PS3 Joker Challenge Impression/Review from IGN

Sounds a lot tougher, but potentially fun.

Thanks for the post. Even though the reviewer seemed to like it, it doesn't seem like something I have to have which makes my decision on the 360 version a lot easier.

Believe the hype and the reviews, this one's a keeper folks; fun, polished and just plain cool. This is one of those games that remind you why you enjoy videogames in the first place.

The GT review's pretty spot-on, as usual:

PS3
There was the mandatory install (5-7 minutes) but it looks aces and plays like butter.

I think the Joker levels are available now to download.

Excellent. That almost makes me want to go check it out w/o waiting for a borrow.

Re: Batman - Arkham Asylum

I ended up saying screw it to the Amazon deal and the TRU deal even. I just don't have the money to plop down for a brand new game right now, so I took a handful of games to GameStop just now and ended up with enough credit to pay off the game, with an additional $15 or so left over. They are doing the "get an extra 25% trade credit when you put it on Batman" promotion, so I got pretty good credit for everything. Heck, they gave me almost $30 for Modern Warfare after that extra, along with my Edge card, or whatever it's called.

Then on top of everything, they're doing a midnight launch so I'll have this Monday night!!!

Re: Batman - Arkham Asylum

Just curious: was it more credit than you would have got from Amazon's trade-in store? And if so, was it over $15 more since you'd be dealing with full retail price, no coupons and tax at Gamestop vs Amazon?

At GS the overall total was $74.92, at Amazon it would have been $61.75.

I think Amazon has a special right now where if you trade in $60+ worth of stuff they add $30 to your account, so that would've been a much better deal...but I want this game Monday night, not in a week or so. That may be a stupid decision, but hey, I require me some Batman as soon as possible.

Awesome, I'm downloading it right now so it'll already be on my PS3 when I get the game Monday night.

Re: Batman - Arkham Asylum

I have a $5 RZ coupon here that expires on the 31st. With the $30 gift card lasting through October, I'm seriously considering getting this. But it really hinges on whether or not the B2G1F deal will occur in October as usual.

Re: Batman - Arkham Asylum

Meh, go ahead and buy it now, especially since you already have coupons and stuff right now.

By the time the B2G1F deal shows up in October, and it likely will, there will be even more games out that you can use for that deal. And in the meantime you'll be playing a kick ass Batman game.

Re: Batman - Arkham Asylum

Oh, there's plenty of games for the deal, that's not the problem.

The problem is having a $30 gift card with nothing to spend it on because Batman is really more of a borrow title for me as all my friends are likely to get it already.

Re: Batman - Arkham Asylum

If you buy two copies of this, even if you have to do this with maybe two transactions...you will have spent 120 plus tax...and you will have 60 bucks in gift cards. Then if you trade it in to amazon during their 30 extra bucks promotion...real fast while its value is right at 30 bucks...you will get a total of 90 bucks for the two games....that is 150 in total spending money between amazon and toysrus...for 120 bucks....

Well from amazon and it being 13 bucks cheaper and no tax you would have actually gotten a better deal out of them at amazon, plus a comic :P

And either 6 bucks (which mostly would have been taken care of by the no tax) would have gotten you guaranteed same day release shipping or save more if you have prime

I got it for 47.99 with no tax and guaranteed tuesday shipping.

edit... Now that I think about it, there is no way you could have gotten them all the games and gotten it on tuesday by now... so carry on... I bet you'll be thinking ahead next time eh?
