I have a question about controllers and switching them. Lets say I'm playing RB2 and my friend was singing and I was playing guitar. So he is player 2 I'm player 1, ok he decides to leave. So I want to play some Force Unleashed. I turn off the guitar and try to switch controller 2 to controller 1, but it won't work. The only way I was able to get the 360 to detect controller 2 as 1 is a reboot. Is there an easier way to do this or not.

thanks

Does Force UNleashed required the player to be controller 1? I always just sign out of the guitar, and sign back in on the regular controller. I'm player 2, but I'm still me, so it doesn't really matter. If I'm playing an offline multiplayer game, then player 2 is now controller 3.
If you have to be player one, try just removing the power from the USB adapter for the guitar (assuming you have the wired guitar).

Well shit. I am hoping someone here has good news for me, but I doubt it. My console red ringed a couple weeks ago and I received it back this week. I finally decided to jump back into Castle Crashers this today and when I came to the character select, my orange knight was no longer there, nor my unlocked characters. It appears my save progress is gone. This was the game I red ringed while playing. All my other arcade games appear to have their save data in tact, so I can only assume this one got corrupted. My achievements and rank are still saved in my profile of course.

Anybody encounter something like this? Any way to get my level 21 knight back?

My guess is I am shit out of luck and starting over.

I've heard a lot of people have had that problem with Castle Crashers. It's pretty inexcusable, considering this game was in development for so damn long. Sorry about that.

Quick question. I haven't paid too much attention to the data migration kit stuff because I hadn't planned on buying an Elite or a 120GB Drive anytime soon. But since I was able to snag an Elite bundle from Dell last week for $299, there went those plans! Anyway, as I understand it, the data migration kit wipes out anything that is stored on the 120GB drive during the transfer process. So it's really not worth me doing anything on the Elite until I get the Data Migration Kit and move my stuff over from my old 360, correct?

Yes, that's correct. I'd just use your 20gb until you get the kit.

So I decided to suck it up and start over, not knowing if there was a way to recover lost data. Played for a couple hours last night, building up a new knight, unlocking things I'd already done. Went to play tonight again ... all gone again. This is just ridiculous.

Well, I finally decided to order a coffin for my 2.5 year old Xbox that bit the dust earlier this year with the single red light of death (similar to RROD but involves the GPU ). It's not covered by the RROD warranty (even though it should be) but I figured I'd give it a shot anyway. If nothing else, Microsoft wastes money shipping my dead console around.

I got a single red light a week or so back. I turned the system off and on a few times and it worked fine. I'm sure it'll be dead in a few weeks now... this will be my 4th Xbox and 2nd Elite.

I've heard, and experienced, issues losing weapon and animal orbs but haven't heard of anyone losing their levels.

I was able to temporarily resurrect it a few times by getting it warm but it's been dead as a doornail for a good while now.

How long has it generally been taking for Micro$oft to ship your 360 back once it arrives at the destination center? Mine arrived last night, and the repair status was updated today to reflect that.

What's with all these red ring issues lately? Is it that time of year?

Mine took a few days for them to send out the replacement.

Summer, heat, more usage are probably the main culprits of a small spike.

I knew going in that I would most likely be a victim of a failed console. After all, I bought mine Christmas of last year and it was manufactured 9/07. I really hoped that they would have made it through some of the growing pains and I wouldn't have to suffer. I was wrong. Right now, I'm thinking, screw this, when the next xbox hits, I'm not touching that POS until it's been out for at least 2 years and there are not wide wide widespread reports of problems.

My red rings never came back. It's weird. Right after Halo 3 came out (about 1 year ago), I had freezing and needed restarts, then that went away forever as well. My 360 keeps flirting with death but won't cross over to the other side. It's the Fidel Castro of Xboxes.

When I check now, the website says I don't have any registered consoles anymore...so I'm assuming that means I'm getting a new suystem. Hopfully that means it'll get shipped out today.

My spare 360 was received at MS yesterday, and a console is on it's way back to my today. I have to assume that it's a new 360. Either that, or it didn't red ring for them for some unknown reason.

Check and see if your old one is still listed as a registered device...I think that's the giveaway. I'm guessing I'll get a new one shipped out today...they got mine Monday evening.

UPS delivered mine last night. There's the silver lining for me... the return center for mine was in Mesquite which is about a 4 to 4 1/2 hour drive from here. The online system doesn't reflect it as checked in yet though.
