Yeah that is your problem the disc unreadable is something else, and microsoft will not own up to this being as much of a problem as the rrod when in reality most systems red ringed before they could get this. Usually the drive needs to be replaced so $75 is a relatively reasonable price for the repair but really you shouldn't have to pay for it but that's how it is. Honestly they didn't have to replace all the rrod's either but it was better then the heat they would take if they didn't

If you pay for the extended warranty it covers everything.

If you are relying on MS and their free 3 year extension to the base warranty then that is RRoD only.

If you bought the 2 year extended warranty for a launch console you should be good until November for general issues.

General warranty: 1 year standard + 2 years extended (11/05-11/08)
RROD: 3 years standard + 2 years extended (11/05-11/10)

IIRC, i purchased an extended warranty within the 1st year of having a launch console. when i check online, my warranty is valid through 10/09.

Looks like it's back to life... Back to reality.
A fix that should help you, it helped me.

Load the game as usual.

At the title screen press the guide button and sign out of your profile then sign back in without ever leaving the game.

Your levels should be back at this point!!!

Why do you kick babies? Are elves not a challenge anymore? Do you just kick baby elves?

Well, you could jab a sharp stick into your eye repeatedly. It's not very good for your vision, but it's a reasonable facsimile of what playing Alien Hominid is like.

Is Xbox Live down today? I've been getting an error that my MTU settings are too low, when I've never experienced this before and I've been using the same setup for 4 years.

Hmm, never got the message though since my system wasn't on to get it. You'd think they'd have it on the main page of Xbox Live's website or something too.

I don't know what you're talking about. I found Alien Hominid to be quite the enjoyable ride, and definitely worth the $10.

I do not kick regular babies, unless they mean. And most of them are, so yes. But why was your question and because i can is your answer.

Elves have always presented a challenge. Some more challenging then others. But most of them just submit right away just to get it over with. Right before i kick em i always ask myself, "What would baby Jesus do?" I say it outloud to see the look on the elves faces. Its priceless. And that's what keeps me going.

According to the Xbox 360 DVD Drive Database, the new 'Jasper' Xbox 360s have begun shipping as of August in the UK and in the US.

The 'Jasper' hardware revision is the shrinking of the GPU from a 90nm chip to a 65nm chip which the company hopes will keep the system cooler and significantly reduce the now infamous 'red ring of death', the sign that your 360 needs to be replaced.

Overall, Microsoft has spent $1 billion USD in replacing 360s that have failed (mainly from overheating) which has dipped into profits the software maker is making on the console.

The database says the Arcade model is shipping with the Jasper revisions in the UK, the US and other countries around Europe. A new update marked this week shows the Elite model shipping to the US with the Jasper revisions.

Yes. Nothing you'll notice.

It was in preparation for the "New Xbox Experience" coming to you November 2008!!!

Am I the only one who is not exicted about Avatars? I've got a Wii and the whole Mii thing does nothing for me either. My kids like them but I think they just look gay. MS should be spending more time solving the fucking RROD issue than stupid avatars.

I agree with you I like everything I have heard so far about the changes except the avatars.
