Yeah, this is where i'm leaning as well. As cool as it is that Capcom is doing something like this, gimmicky as it is, hearing how difficult it is turns me away.

Even if I only play the game a few times before I get too pissed off to continue, I'm going to buy it just to support the concept. There are worse ways to blow 10 bucks.

Boo. Protoman is going to be available to play... for a price. $2 extra DLC content across all platforms. That's a piece of content that usually is easy to ignore, except Protoman has different abilities than MM like the slide and a shield.

Yeah and at another forum someone was bitching about how much it costs for extra downloadable content. Someone made a good reply that its like ordering a plain pizza but if you want extra toppings it'll cost you more. Its there if you want it. They're not forcing you to buy additional content.

I just bought a wii points card today and am definately excited about getting this tomorrow

360 vesion bumpd to Oct 1. I assume they didn't want too much nostalgia in the Arcade and Duke Nukem had already staked out the 24th.

I asked this in the VC thread as well, hopefully someone can answer while I'm at work. I'd like to think it'd be no bigger than every other NES game, but it is technically a WiiWare game so it might be more than just a standard ROM...

A guy from Capcom on the official PS blog confirmed that it'll run 4:3. There will be a demo but no trophies.

I played this briefly this afternoon although I only checked out Splash Woman's stage. They weren't lying when they said the game was tough. I found myself dying left and right because of all the mines. I must have spent 10-15 minutes trying to get by the part with the bubbles! Ahh, it reminds me of the good old days.

Holy 8-bit goodness! Mega Man 9 rocks! It is music to the ears right when you boot it up. Takes you right back to 1989 just like that. I've only played one level (gotta watch Heroes!) but I must have chosen a perfect starter level because I got through it with no issues. Beat the boss on my second attempt.

I'm sure gamefaqs will have boss path within days, but we can take a stab at it for now.

Galaxy Man
Stage: Easy | Boss: Easy (beat with Mega Buster)

Totally freakin' rad! I'm in total 8-bit heaven! I downloaded before I headed to work, today, and only got to play for a few minutes, but, it was enough to make me smile. I've played a little, this evening, and I must tell you, this game is hard as hell! Yet, I love it! After I get done catching up on my television shows, I'll be back at it. $10 bucks well spent! I have such fond memories of being a kid, and playing Mega Man on the NES, staying up all night long!

By the way, I'm really feeling the need to get this shirt from the Capcom online store:

Looks like a MM10 is virtually guaranteed. According to VGChartz, MM9 sold an astounding 60,000 copies yesterday, raking in a half million dollars for what I presume was a tiny investment on a $10 game. That's one day of sales on a single console.

How does that fare with other titles on XBLA or PSN?

I think I must've tried 5 or 6 of the stages and man, they really are tough. I only tried each stage once, but I didn't make it through a single one of them. I will have to try Galaxy Man - that's one of the few I didn't take a stab at yet.

Still, the game is awesome despite being very difficult.

I'm waiting for the XBLA version to hit to see all the reviews. Will probably still get it on the VC, but I'm in no rush with Rock Band 2 taking up all my time.

Does anyone know how much the game actually cost to make? People keep throwing out numbers like $500 or $900. I doubt its that cheap to make. I'd say more around $5,000

I can guarantee you that this game cost more than $500, $900, or $5000. Maybe more like $150,000.
