LA Noire - The Thread.

Re: LA Noire - The Thread.
Well after playing about 4 hrs last night I love the game. Someone mentioned earlier about the difference between lie and doubt and was totally correct. In between cases I have killed time by driving around the city and jumping in different cars to try to get to the 95 on the list. I believe I'm around 38 now. The chases are great. I was running after a guy and he hide behind a corner and he closed lined me
Does anyone know how to shut off the radio in the car? Also on the Map I went to the camera icon which are supposed to be Landmarks but when I went there nothing happened. I am guessing you have to do them in some order?

When you drive by a landmark, the camera icon shows up on the map meaning you've found it. It has a thing in the upper-left of the screen telling you to "Hold B to focus on the landmark". I've come across 5 or so in my driving around town.

I think no one has mentioned this, but when you are driving you can turn on the siren, pushing the left stick I think. That would make all the cars to stop, so you have all the street for yourself.

No cars were stopping for me when I had the siren on.
The L stick is also used for the horn in non-police cars...standard GTA controls.

Bit of warning for you all. In between the cases you get a little bit of flashback to Phelps' service in the military.
So I finish the second "real" case
and I'm ready to go to bed so I let the "Saving Game" icon finish and the flashback starts. I drop to the main menu. When I continued the game, it went right to the placard with the third case's title. I didn't see any way to go back to see that missed flashback.
So, make sure you see the placard for the next case before you drop out between cases.

Is there anyway in this game to go back and play individual cases? I couldn't find it. Also can you have 2 different saved games?

RB is bad placement for the handbrake. I can't tell you how many times I've tried to make a corner turn, start mashing B, and plow into a crowd of people waiting for the light to change.
Also, when you finish a case and it gives you a little critique of how you did, is that factored into the star rating you earned for the mission? In the hit and run case,

You might spoilerize some of the deets of that case, chuck.
Yes, you can replay cases. It was mentioned on-screen after the first.
The text is easy to miss, but by then I was trained to look there for info.
Yeah I have seen and done that a couple times. But I went across town just to see a Landmark it was out of the way and nothing to do with my case so I don't think it registers.

I don't remember right now. Something about going up to a spot in the precinct. I won't need to replay a case until after I finish all the cases. RTFM?

I was poking around on ebay earlier today, and I noticed a lot of people trying to sell "the Consol's Car" PS3 exclusive DLC codes. Who would buy this? It isn't store exclusive DLC, it comes in every PS3 Copy. I highly doubt that there's a burgonging used game market for this already (which would be the only conceivable use for it). Are the sellers this dumb, or are they just hoping that the buyers are?

So who all is playing with the sound/vibration clues and who turned them off? I've had them on so far but I'm thinking of disabling them. However, some of the visual clues are really small, and I feel like the cues are a nice non-intrusive way of letting you know that there's something to investigate. Otherwise you might just walk all over the crime scene hammering on the A button trying to find points of interaction.

At any rate, assuming you can see google results, the answer is in the text of the first result.

So far I haven't felt like I haven't been able to find everything I need. Granted it's way too early to call it like that, but if I encounter anything "game-breaking" this way... Well, I guess I won't know until I'm at my wit's end.
I'll probably turn them on next time as I'm going through for things I missed the first time because, well, I missed them so the clues will be fine to use, IMO. I mean, you only get to play games the first time once, why baby yourself?

I'm playing the game in superfro mode, not only with vibration and music on, also using the hints and help every time I can. And if I still fail I just quit the game and try again, I don't like when they tell me I'm a bad interrogator.

I wish that you didn't see a snippet of the crime being committed in the introduction to each new case. That taints my approach to the case, as "I" have this super power of seeing into the past and now I can steer my character a certain way.

Re: LA Noire - The Thread.
Does anyone knows if the flashbacks are related to any case in the main game? That's my guess, and I hope so, but not sure, since I'm really early in the game (16%).
I could google it, but I want the non-spoilerized answer from you guys.

Turned them off immediately in the tutorial. L&O said that by doing so, a clue disappeared. I'm not sure if that's a glitch, a truth, or the words of an idiot.

And about that spoiler...why the hell did you have to do that? I am so tempted to click on it because I don't know what the flashbacks relate to either but I don't want it ruined.....hopefully it's just a joke spoiler.

That was awesome. Amazing you can recognize people instantly.
