Re: LA Noire - The Thread.

Just finished installing the 360 version and it took up 19.9 GB on my hard drive. Now to start playing.

There was also a witness I questioned in the first case that I don't think is necessary, since I restarted the case and skipped it the second time.

And then there's actually passing the interrogations. I had a lot of trouble with my first one, and I don't have the ability to tell truth from lies yet. I'm not even sure when "doubt" is supposed to be used. But, I suppose you can just use trial and error and get it anyway.

The driving is pretty sensitive. Hopefully I'll get used to it.
I used doubt on one

Spoiler:
the black guy in the train yard and it was effective. I got 4/4 correct

Re: LA Noire - The Thread.

Mine arrived from Amazon with the packed in code. Hopefully I can sell the magic suit and get some money back.

My wife and I intend to play this game together since she isn't really a gamer but is a huge crime noir fan. Hopefully after the little one goes to bed we can start!

Is anyone intending to play it in black and white? I may see what the mode looks like but I will most likely play it in color.

Also, KMart. I did not buy it at Kmart. I probably should have for the free game but I had amassed credit at Amazon so the game cost me nothing out of pocket... and has 15$ towards my next game.

Kmart.

Me! I figure, if they put it in there, it'll still be just as playable as the full color mode, and it'll feel more "authentic".

Re: LA Noire - The Thread.

Wow, the driving sucks ass. Feels worse than GTA. It doesn't matter in GTA, because you can bash into anything and it's fine. But here, running into things or people adversely affects your score. If that's the case, then make it easier to drive correctly!

B&W looks awesome, but I've already encountered one part of the game that relies on color (golden door knobs and handles), so I'm going to play in color.

A question
Spoiler:
In the first case, I found a notebook with names and numbers written on it. Then my partner told me to call it in, and then my case ended. Does that mean I failed it, or does that come back?

For 1947? I guess if you're thinking this is a TV serial as opposed to a theatrical release. Wizard of Oz was 1939.

I believe its assumed you called it in and the detectives took over from there your part is complete. At least I'm guessing. I've played 3-4 more cases after that one and it has not come back.

Okay, I just wasn't sure if I had missed something which meant I couldn't progress.

Re: LA Noire - The Thread.

Is it relatively safe to sell DLC on Ebay?

It seems like they could order the code, use it, and then claim the code didn't work...

Re: LA Noire - The Thread.

You say there's no refunds for it. Make it clear it's for the code only in both the description and title. Don't use a stock game case for your photo.

Also, people are as likely to be stupid as assholey, so YMMV.

Re: LA Noire - The Thread.

Guess I won't be playing in B&W, based on Suprmallet's post. Bummer.

I was a little disappointed that I couldn't stir up the hornet's nest.

Regardless, the vast majority of movies at that time were B&W, especially those that inspired this game. I hope they can patch it so the golden doors flash or sparkle in the B&W mode.

Re: LA Noire - The Thread.

Is it just me or are the graphical hiccups outdoors almost gamebreaking? The pop-in is abysmal. I'm on disc one (installed the game) and I have no desire to drive around the city because everything is so glitchy looking.

I'm wondering the same thing too. I know GTA IV had more texture pop-in when I installed it, but nothing this bad.

I might try deleting the install and booting from disc.
