So Amazon is enticing me w/ their 20 credit. Guess I'm getting Noire. Any visual differences in the 360 or PS3 versions? I'm thinking the PS3 version looks a wee better cuz it was originally made w/ the intention of being an exclusive....but who knows? You guys seen any visual differences in terms of graphics?

I'm a terrible high speed pursuit/flee driver in these games. During the early traffic desk case about
I was just running into others cars, fences, getting wedged in somewhere, etc. After three or so unsuccessful tries, the game gave me the option to skip the pursuit part. I don't know if this is a new feature or not (I haven't played GTA IV yet...or San Andreas, for that matter), but I really appreciate its inclusion.

Ha. Great. I hope the "you know, you really suck at this and obviously aren't going to advance without help" option is still there when I move up in rank.

First impressions:
After playing through a few missions, I have to say the game is good, but I'm a little disappointed with some of the features.
The first problem I have is when you mess up on an interrogation. Most of the time, the transition is NOT smooth as the game tries to get you back on track. Instead, your character will say some seemingly random thing that may not have anything to do with what was learned so far in order to get the investigation "back on the rails". ("So, it was YOU who threw the egg beaters at the bicyclist!" -- wait, what?)
Also, the magic suits are poorly implemented (and a shitty pre-order bonus compared to new cases). You can literally change in the middle of the mission. "Stop punching me for a minute, criminal! I need to change into my melee suit!"
Additionally, things sometimes feel disjointed between driving around and doing the casework. For example, you might show up to a location in one car, but when you go to leave your "stock" car is there instead. And the "open world" is very nice and detailed, but it's pretty dead compared to say, RDR, where there was a ton to do.
As a side note, I find it hilarious to work the traffic beat, since by far the biggest menace on the road is ME. I swear I can't get from point a to point b without smashing a few other cars, light poles, etc.
Finally, have we determined what the "Rockstar Pass" in the XBLA Marketplace is yet?

I enjoy my partner's reactions when I'm causing havoc on the highways. However, I literally drove off a cliff at one point and my partner didn't say a word, which I thought was even funnier.

Maybe I just had unrealistic expectations after RDR but I'm finding this to be abit of a left down thus far. Its really really linear.

Same here. The in-case stuff is great but the rest feels like a GTA game with less to do. It's not yet a game I can really get into and play for hours at a time.

Nope, but when I finished the Traffic desk, it told me I could do a "Street Team" (I think) mode for each desk to go back and clean those up. So I stopped worrying about them too much, especially because at the end of one of my cases it said something like "Well if you had got to [this place] faster, you could have [redacted]." So now I just focus on the case at hand.

Hmmm. Thanks for the tip. I'm in the middle of a case right now where I got a message to see go see the city coroner quickly. Of course, I did a side mission en route. That's probably going to hurt me then.

Anyone think that this game would've been more interesting had your character been a down-and-out private detective in the mold of Sam Spade rather than a cop?

Re: LA Noire - The Thread.
The very first part of the opening scene of the game stuttered and hang a few times for me but since that I haven't had too many issues. I did notice that on my first case it took a moment for the skyline to finish generating but it wasn't very distracting. It might of happened since then but I've not scene it. I installed all 3 discs and I'm pretty pleased with how it is running.
Honestly my biggest issue is that the women in this game are just ugly. The men they captured and rendered just fine but women must be harder to get just right. I guess it has to do with all of them having their hair plastered to their heads and not seeing the hair have any type of free flow look.

god i suck at this interviewing. i can clearly tell when a person is lying but it's a fine line to accuse them of it or just expressing doubt. so frustrating.

There's no rush. Look at your notebook before you decide what to do. I got through one case last night with 100% correct on the questions - Achievement Unlocked.

i know there's no rush. but there are some questions you have to just go on just based on the person'd demeanor. you know they are lying, but it's hard to know whether to express doubt or lying.
