According to Vampire XX, Super Mario Galaxy is a lot better on the PS3. So I think Chew made the right choice here.

Whoops. I forgot the category said PS3. Thanks, I corrected it.

I can't believe I missed the boat on this game, and that it's been out for a month now. I guess I've seen it in stores before now, but it kind of blends in with all the other bright, colorful kid-focused games that are out for the Wii. Ironically, it was the praise for it in the latest EGM that got it noticed (a surprising game of the month), as I don't frequent many video game sites besides this one.

I have a 6 year old daughter who enjoys playing video games with me. I've sought out a couple of the cheaper Wii games and had a decent amount of success so far. She really likes the Shrek 3 game and the Disney Princess game. They're mind-numbing for me to watch (and even worse when she asks me to play with her), but she loves them. Any other suggestions along these lines?

I think the Go Diego Go one is $20 now and from the reviews it seems decent as kids games go.

Thanks for the Diego recommendation. She loves that show, so I'll check it out.

I may have been wrong on the price. I could have sworn it was $19.99 now, but I just checked GameStop and BestBuy.com and they list it for $29.99. I'm going to get this one for my daughter as well. She loves the show and always wants to play a game on the Nintendo Wii.

I bought a new copy of Boom Blox off eBay and the padding used in the mailing envelope was a single crushed up styrofoam coffee cup.

finally got my computer and router set up, so I'm online and all that. I thought that the Mario Kart channel would use my Mii character as the actual racer, which was a bit disappointing. It's more of just a user id than anything. Oh well, I guess it's back to Metroid or maybe I'll pick up Lego Indy. I still haven't played beyond the first hour or so of Zelda.

I got Wii Fit and I like it so far. Out of curiosity I went to the calendar to see when the last time (before yesterday) was that I had turned on my Wii.

Spoiler:

October 10, 2007.

you need to unlock the ability to use your mii as a racer.

Does anyone know how to delete a game from the VC on the Wii? Thanks.

Go into the Wii system settings and go to memory management, I would assume anyway. I've never deleted one.

Corvin's right. The VC games are considered a "channel" so you'll have to be under that tab.

This article is irritating me.
http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/16/bo...nly-60k-units/
Basically a story once again about how third party games don't sell. Boom Blocks could only move 60K units.

What the story doesn't seem to stress is the fact you can't sell a $30 game for $50 and expect it to move. Boom Blox is a great game, but it is not by any means a full priced game. That is the lesson third parties need to learn. Nothing about that game including the marketing done for it in any way justified to the average consumer a $50 price tag.

I understand there is still a problem for third parties selling on the Wii, but common sense can help. Between all the crap getting shoveled on the system and puzzle games debuting at $50 it is no wonder the average gamer has little trust in third party titles.

Yep. BB would have been a perfect $30-$35 game. I think it's great, even at $50, but I'm probably more open to it than the average consumer.

You know that "Spielberg" isn't German for a production company called "Play Land" or anything, right?

I totally agree with you.

I haven't played the game, but what makes it only a $30 game? Are puzzle games automatically relegated to $30 price points?
