Re: Official Wii thread -Part IX

Club Nintendo doesn't let you re-enter codes on games you have entered previously (even if it is a different code) and so I have a few that some may use to get some coins if they have not registered these games previously:

ZNH-BR9W-6NES-95J (New Super Mario Bros. for the DS)
2VP-SNPW-22J3-P77 (Big Brain Academy)
SGQ-FRFY-T74T-LJV (not sure what game this is for)

Please post if you use them.

Thanks, I used the BBA one. I left the unknown one for someone else.

Re: Official Wii thread -Part IX

I used the unknown one, which was for Metroid Prime Pinball apparently.

Since I actually have that, I can post my code when I get around to registering the rest of my stuff.

Re: Official Wii thread -Part IX

This game comes out in October, Illvelo. looks to be based on an arcade game but darn if I've ever seen it in an arcade - anyone know about this game as far as it being any good?

here's a video of the gameplay. the guy did a review of this game when it was still an import title, but it's up for preorder now. Looks....odd

Re: Official Wii thread -Part IX

With all the talk of Uncharted 2 and Brutal Legend being released today, lets not forget that A Boy and His Blob also hits today:

<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" id="gtembed" width="480" height="392"> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" /> <param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /> <param name="movie" value="http://www.gametrailers.com/remote_wrap.php?mid=57585"/><param name="quality" value="high" /> <embed src="http://www.gametrailers.com/remote_wrap.php?mid=57585" swLiveConnect="true" name="gtembed" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" allowFullScreen="true" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="392"></embed> </object>

It's back! I wont be picking it up today more than likely since I want to make it through Uncharted 2 first, but I'll be buying it shortly. Heck, when I go to pick up Uncharted 2 here in a little while I may break down and get this one too. And it's only $39.99 also! If you are a member of Best Buy's Reward Zone and Gamers Club (both are free) you can log into the site and download a coupon to use which gives you a $10 gift card when you buy the game (there is also one for Brutal Legend and a few other games).

And one more ABAHB video:

<object classid="clsid27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" width="437" height="265" id="viddler"><param name="movie" value="http://www.viddler.com/simple_on_site/2531687c" /><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><embed src="http://www.viddler.com/simple_on_site/2531687c" width="437" height="265" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowScriptAccess="always" allowFullScreen="true" name="viddler" ></embed></object>

So what's everyone's thoughts on this? Do people actually use their Wii to exercise or is this the new fad that gets bought and then ends up in a closet after being used twice?

That is ridiculous. Go to the gym or buy a standalone bike.

Re: Official Wii thread -Part IX

I used the New Super Mario Bros (DS) one. Thanks!

Speaking of which, is the new Wii game coming out simply a port of this? Or is it different? It's in my goldbox today and I was thinking about ordering it (also comes with $10 amazon credit.)

Re: Official Wii thread -Part IX

^ It's different.

Edit: I'll try to get an official thread started on it soon with info and videos since it might be a game that'll get a little more interest.

Re: Official Wii thread -Part IX

Seeing as it is 4 weeks away, you'd think Nintendo would hype NSMB: Wii up more. It is Nintendo and they know how to botch any PR for games... they still deliver on playability though

I just hope the single-player experience in NSMB:Wii isn't gimped in favor of the co-op gameplay, which I couldn't give two fucks about.

Re: Official Wii thread -Part IX

From what I've read (don't recall where), NSMB.Wii was developed as a single player title and MP was basically tacked on. So that sounds promising.

If it was online multiplayer, I would be much more excited. I have no friends locally that will want to play, so I hope the single player game delivers.

Go 5:00 into this clip. You would think all the warnings would have tipped him off, but no.

Re: Official Wii thread -Part IX

Damn, they were fast in cutting to just the Wii feed.

And a $199 Wii + $25 accessory pack = $379 value in HSN's world? Even the $329 "Price Drop" is laughable. And selling out? Last I checked my Best Buy had a pallet of them.

Re: Official Wii thread -Part IX

Nintendo UK will release the black Wii system on November 6, as part of a limited edition bundle including matching Wii Remote, Nunchuk, and MotionPlus peripherals, and both Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort. This bundle will be available elsewhere in Europe on November 20.

Along with the black bundle, Nintendo is releasing the black Classic Controller Pro accessory. No price has been announced for any of these items. Nintendo of America has yet to announce any plans to release any of these items.
I'm trying to think of good reasons why NOA has no plans for this at all.

I got nothin'.

I won't lie.. if Nintendo gets off their and offers a license transfer, I'd buy that bundle.

Re: Official Wii thread -Part IX

I so want that black Wii. Man, that sounds dirty.....

When I got home, the Wii was glowing blue, so I checked the messages and it said that there was an update to the Wii Shop Channel. It didn't look any different after the update, so I'm guess it was all behind the scenes. Anyone know what was changed?

EDIT: Nevermind. According to Wikipedia:

On October 20, 2009 the Wii Shop Channel was updated so that certain games could be purchased for free at different points in time.

Re: Official Wii thread -Part IX

I was wondering about the blue flash also.

Certain games = Rock Band DLC : "Charlene" and "Headphones On"

They actually had to patch the Wii Shop channel just so people could get these songs. Brilliant!
