Sounds like he could be talking about Heroes as well.

Just as a personal side note (as I know this thread is about SW:TFU), I completely disagree that Mercenaries 2 is a "broken" game. Are there occasional quirks here and there? Yeah. Could some of those issues benefitted from another month or two of dev time? Sure. But personally -- and maybe I've just been lucky -- I've YET to run into a show-stopping bug in Mercenaries 2. I've put in countless hours with it since release day, and I'm having an absolute ton of fun with this one.

Why are people even fighting the Junk Titan boss? You just have to run past him and get to the other side of the canyon. Force bend that plank that it breaks and jump down on it and move on.

I just beat the game last night. 9 hours and 55min. 2 hours of which was fighting the fracking Emperor. Then it dawned on me that you could block his purple lightning and throw it back at him. Took 15 min after that. This was on Sith Warrior.

The game was really fun. I loved the Death Star level the most. It was cool fighting and seeing what was behind the laser dish. The Junk level was the worst. Now to beat the game again and get the Dark Side ending.

I'll reiterate that I do enjoy this game, but all the quirks are getting to me.

I am now calling this game "Star Wars: The Force Loading".

I can understand needing to "load" levels, transitions and cutscenes ... but give me a break, EVERY menu needs load time?

My son is stuck at this part. He needs to get across the junk yard, but there doesn't seem to be a way to bring the crossing piece down. Any hints?

You have to cross over and go to the very top of the other side of the canyon (opposite where you charged the engine and blue colored plank) and use the force hold to bring it down. Then just jump down on it from there.

Yeah and really, my biggest issue with the game is all the loading. Pretty damn annoying, but like the game pretty well despite that.

I'm really liking this game aside from a few probs but still quite enjoyable.

But OMG did anyone get to the level where you have to bring down the Star Destroyer?

I've tried so many times and just can't figure it out, help please?

Oh and I thought the battle with Proxy was pretty sweet, with some nice guest appearances.

I played the demo yesterday and overall not bad. I guess this is straight up single player all the way or is there any co-op at all? If not to bad as that would be a blast with type of gauntlet style with two players. Kind of reminds me of the pc game "Star Wars-Jedi Outcast".

I really don't get the negative reviews for this game... I had a great time with it. I'm not the best gamer in the world, but I beat this this weekend on Sith Warrior without too much trouble (light and dark side endings).

There were only two main situations that I had to play more than twice. The first case was jumping the large gap right before you fight the boss in the second level (I didn't realize you could jump, dash, jump instead of only jump, jump). I actually managed to do it by double jumping by curling the metal piece in on itself, jumping inside of it, then jumping on top of it and across. In fact, there are a lot of cases where I had to be creative because I didn't realize that maneuver was possible until the last level (like when you had to jump into the top of the ship on the second level—I ended up stacking debris and double jumping inside).

The second case was at the very end of the second-to-last level (after the boss fight). Here's a tip for people who are struggling with that:

Spoiler:
The star destroyer doesn't regain altitude. Destroy all the TIE fighters with lightning (stand a few paces to the right of the right wall to target TIEs flying to the right, and vice versa), align the star destroyer toward you, bring it down as much as possible before the TIEs are within range, then break away and repeat about four times. It will come down eventually.

There's always a "best way" to beat each boss (and, really, each enemy in the game), and once you learn it it's not that difficult afterward. Here are some tips for people having trouble with the final level:

Spoiler:
Shadow guard and emperor's guards: Ignore the shadow guard until all emperor's guards are defeated. Get between them and the door to the next section and force push them away. Try to push them off the edge (it helps to have force push maxed out here). If they approach you, attack them with your lightsaber. Once all of them are defeated, defeat the shadow guard with lightning and your lightsaber.

Darth Vader: Combo, combo, combo. Like most enemies, he's most vulnerable when he's on the ground, so knock him into the air with Saber, Saber, Saber, (hold) Force Push (it has to be unlocked, of course). This part isn't too bad.

For the second part of the fight, grab things off the wall and throw them at him. Each time you hit him, he'll be stunned—keep doing it! Eventually he'll jump onto the far platform and you'll have to duel again like last time. If you choose to fight him a third time, the same rules apply.

Emperor: The Emperor can't take his own medicine: hit him with lightning until he lifts the debris into the air to attack you. Then get behind the walls at the bottom. Afterward, lightning again unless the guards show up. If they do, ignore the emperor (he is invulnerable and won't attack you) and deal with them to get your health back up. Attack senate guards with lightning and emperor's guards with your lightsaber. If you've got your lightning maxed and have some health and force boosts, this fight won't take more than five minutes.

A couple quick questions for those also playing and enjoying the game.

1. Does anyone have suggestions for the Sith Flurry technique? I suck at it and can not kill more than one Stormtrooper in the challenge. Am I missing something easier to master here? This is my only tutorial/challenge left.

2. On Raxxus Prime the second time when you are overloaded the rail guns, has anyone else had freezing issues? I've had my game freeze twice on this section. Have not tried a third time, but will later tonight. Also, this whole level seemed to be screwed up, as my objectives did not record, and it never even listed the bonus objectives (only a "default text" entry). Very weird.

Finally beat this one yesterday. I got both endings and loved them both. The first time fighting the Emperor sucked. It took me a lil bit to figure out how to beat him and when i finally got his health down enough for the Action Cutscene to being, it froze and i had to do it all over again.

Overall i think it's got a great story in it and it's worth buying if your a big Star Wars fan. If your not a big fan of the source material i'd suggest waiting for a price drop. It's awesome to pick up a Storm Trooper and try to throw him only to watch him grab a railing and try and save himself.

8/10 from me.

We've put an "in-game" picture of Fisto after the break, but he looks more like he's been pasted in from the cover of a Star Wars novel.

And later this year, look for a new mission in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, where the Apprentice will "learn more about his father, and while searching through the rubble of the destroyed building he must confront his inner demons."

Neither the price nor specific dates for either of the DLC packs has yet been unlea-- err, revealed. We'll keep you posted.

I noticed on half it's already down to the $40 mark used. The only other game to drop that quick was Lost: Via Domus. Could be a great $20 stocking stuffer by Christmas.

Great news about the DLC. I was going to beat this game and ship it to Ebay... guess I'll keep it around. It's very entertaining but some of the controls are frustrating as hell --- especially when trying to reach higher up power orbs.

I need to finish this as well, but the DLC is definitely a surprise. A welcome one.

I'm on the third mission and like it alot so far.
ForcePoints are what you need to level up your specs? How do you know what lvl you are or how many more you need for the next level?

what do you get for achieving those secondary objectives?
Is it important to complete them?

You don't need to complete any of the secondary objectives. I've run thru levels (cloud city for example) w/out finding a single hidden item (much to my dismay).

I enjoy this game but would have dumped it the second I finished if it weren't for the DLC. The controls are frustrating to me and there are just too many good games out right now and another bunch on the way (SOCOM, Saints Row 2).

I don't know if it will hit $20 by XMas (maybe on a BF deal), but ya, this may be something cheaper I can squeeze onto my Xmas list.

I'm on the last mission Deathstar. I think its a pretty good game.
2 things i would change - 1. get rid of those annoying button sequence at the end of the boss fight 2. they need to adjust how you control the target cursor for your force power. Very often i am blasting the wrong object.

i read that the game has 2 endings. do you need to replay the entire game again to get the 2nd ending?

No, you don't. After you beat it go to Continue Game. Press Start and go to Mission Select and choose Death Star.

You do have to play thru that level to get to the end though.

I've run into quite a few bugs playing this, which has made me hate this game.

Last night I was on the third level (or fourth if you count the Vader opening) clearing out the cave. I get all the way to the top and I get stuck in mid air. The game isn't frozen, the camera still works but I have to quit, and do the cave all over again.

I've run into situations like that a few times. Those and the crappy junkyard boss I think I'm going to quit this game for a while. I'm really not having fun.

Pulling down the Star Destroyer almost made me quit this game. At one point I had spent about 45 minutes just trying to center the GD thing before starting to pull it down... no sooner do I have it centered and here comes another wave of TIES.

The controls for this game are frustrating and I'd much prefer that your lightsaber is able to chop most things in half instantly (It's a lightsaber for crissakes.)... to make up for the challenge they could have just thrown more enemies out there.
