Does anyone know the rough ratio of falcon chipped 360s to old 360s that have been selling at the major retailers? I just want to get an idea of what to expect when I go hunting this weekend.

I'm looking forward to Frontlines:FOW, also. The FPS part of the demo seemed kind of ho-hum, but I enjoyed blowing stuff up with the tank. Hopefully, the air vehicles will be just as fun.

Anyone try the demo for The Club, yet? I enjoyed the heck out of it. It's nothing but mindless shooting, but seems like something you can pick up and play without having to worry about a story or overly complicated controls. It's shot up to a release day purchase for me.

That what I imagined. I doubt I'll end up playing enough to ever play random multi-player games. But I'll play a bit more single player and then "friendly" matched if any friends end up getting it.

Hey Trevor, add me to your friends list. I'd much rather play that game against someone from this forum than any random asshat out there. I've been clobbered at least 5 or 6 times now, but I still love the game.

I'll add you as well. I'm not very good, but I do like it as a casual social game.

I'll add you both, but I'm probably not even good enough to play against someone else yet. Only played the two games so far, and don't think I even understand exactly what I'm doing yet. Although, I guess I could learn and improve your egos at the same time! I work 7 on 7 off (12 hour shifts), so it will likely be next friday before I spend much time online.

Speaking of adding friends, I know I've mentioned this before, but I'm seriously thinking of changing my gamertag. I thought it was cool to be a beta tester and get Trevor before anyone else, but now I get messages and friend requests from all kinds of people thinking that I'm "their Trevor". I have like 100 people in my friends list, but I'm sure that half are people who don't know me.

I almost always say yes to a friend request, because it could be one of you, but I think I'm going to go thru my list and cull a bunch of names out of it. We still have a master list of DVDtalkers here, right? I'll compare my list to that and delete anyone not on the list here.

And we've mentioned that when inviting DVDtalkers, we should put dvdtalk in the friend request as text or voice, right?

I just cleaned out my Friend's List. I only left the DVDTALKERS masterlist which was set up months ago. I can still see people from here online but only if I look at the dvdtalker's list.

You click on the DVDTalkers buddy then on the Friends tab of it and you can see everyone that was added to that list.

Thanks! Then, from that, it is easy to click on names and send invites and such?

That might be the best way to work this, but only if all of us befriend DVDTalkers I imagine.

Well this was a surprise, I just got this email from Microsoft:
Thank you for taking us up on our Halo® 3 offer by purchasing a new Xbox 360® console and migrating to an Xbox LIVE® Gold subscription. Your copy of Halo 3 will be arriving in the next 3 weeks, so be sure to keep an eye out for it!

In the meantime, go to Xbox LIVE Marketplace for all the hottest movies, demos, arcade games, and other content. We look forward to helping you take full advantage of your Xbox LIVE Gold membership—with the ultimate online multiplayer gaming service and features to support your growing community of friends and rivals.
I remember signing up for it, but I am pretty sure I didn't qualify. Oh well, I'll take it as their way of apologizing for all these Xbox Live problems (besides Undertow).

Yeah, it's been there since thursday. Game plays great, looks good, can't wait for it.

Other demos you may have missed are "The Club", and "Turning Point". New videos out for "Army of Two" and "Brothers in Arms" as well. Check 'em out.

Even though it's not what I would consider a game I would normally care for, I thought the DMC4 demo was pretty good. But I hope you can change the button layout. Locking onto enemies with RB made pressing Y for sword attacks kind of awkward. After playing for 10 minutes my hand was hurting a bit.

While I think the button layout is fine, my friend has the same exact complaint as you. I don't think they've ever let you change buttons in DMC before, but I hope they change that to make everyone happy.

I was playing CoD4 last night when I heard the familiar click-click-grind and just before I got the unreadable disc error message on the screen . . .

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

The outer edge scratches happened a few days ago and it was failing to load certain maps. The more numerous groove scratches closest to the center were what occurred last night. The game fails to start up anymore. I get the "To play this disc, put it in an Xbox 360 console" message.

It's a rental from Blockbuster and I'm contemplating whether it's worth it to try and swap it out for a different copy. It is due back on Friday, 2/1 -- ("no late fees, OWN it day")

ah man, sounds like i might have to put my other games on hold... CoD4 CE was $45 on Amazon the other day, i didn't get it though. Not that i don't want the game, just too busy, i mean, look at me, it took me few months to get to the last boss in Gears Tonight, i shall defeat RAAM in Rambo style (went to youtube for the hints).

that was the thing i want to find out... i couldn't DL the demo cause i'm silver, not gold, they told me to come back in few days

i did DL the demo from PSN, played both modes on the PS3. I have to say, the game play is pretty good and DMC never look this good! I'm sure there's no visual differences in the X360 version. I really want to feel the control layout from the X360's perspective. However, from what i heard, the PS3 version got uncompressed sound (maybe too much for this thread, sorry).

I'm hoping this is just an attempt at humor and not continued techno-arrogance.

i don't know about you Shumway, but if i have to pick the same game between X360 or the PS3, i think i want all info before buying (even if it's a bargain or something).

as soon as i'm allowed to DL DMC4 demo from Live, i'll do a comparison.
