My boss wants to get a 360 Elite, but can't find it in stock anywhere, so he's considering getting a Pro bundle (or whatever its called). I know the Pro bundle doesn't come with an HDMI cable, and I told him he could probably just use an HDMI cable he already has instead of buying a special branded MS one (if they even make those). But before he pulls the trigger, I told him I'd find out for sure.
Yeah, he can use any HDMI cable.

http://www.chadledford.com/?p=50 has instructions on how to hack the original Component/Composite adapter (that comes w/ the 360) so you can use its Optical Out w/ any HDMI cable. (Read: You take off the casing, that is all. Otherwise it won't fit due to size constraints w/ the hdmi cable plugged in, thanks.. a lot Microsoft)

Anyone play the demo Frontlines: Fuel of War? I had a lot of fun with it, not terribly original maybe, although it looks like the full game gets more vehicles than the usual shooter.

Thanks for the confirmation amped and RichC2. I don't think my boss is going to be using optical, so the adapter won't be necessary.

If he's going to use optical with HDMI he either needs to buy the special adapter from Microsoft or do the hack posted above.

I might have to do the same, my coffin is on the way. Is there a way to schedule the download online without a 360, so that it downloads when I get my 360 back?

If you have a friend with a 360, have them recover your gamer tag and download the game for you. This way it will be tied to your gamer tag, so when you get your 360 back you can just re download Undertow.

Condemned 2 dated March 11, new multiplayer details
Posted Jan 22nd 2008 5:00PM by Richard Mitchell
Filed under: News

Sega has officially unveiled the North American release date for Condemned 2: Bloodshot. The title is set to release March 11 (it was previously revealed that the game will see it's European release on March 14). More exciting than the revelation of its release date is the detailing of Bloodshot's multiplayer modes. The modes available will be Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch (we know those better as Hobo Fight Club) alongside two previously unannounced modes, Crime Scene and Bum Rush. Crime Scene is undoubtedly the most interesting of the two. It involves two teams in a round based game in which one team attempts to collect and analyze evidence while the other team will endeavor to "keep the evidence hidden and protected." Somehow we're guessing that protecting the evidence involves a lot of neck snapping. Bum Rush is more or less a survival game type in which one team must remain alive for a certain amount of time while the other team does their best to prevent this. Again, we're guessing the snapping of necks will be involved

Color us excited.

I set up a GamerTag for all of us rockers, since whoever put DVDTalk Gamers together hasn't checked it since 12/13. Who knows how many pending requests are in there.

If you want to be in contact with all the 360 RB/GH players, send a friend request to "DVDTalk Rocks". I'll be checking it every day for new members, and all you have to do to see who's on is go to the Profile for DVDTalk Rocks and twist over to the Friends/Bio page, and look at the Friends of Friends section. Send out your invites from there and have a jolly fun time with Band Quick Play!

I played it and I'm really looking forward to the full game. I had mentioned the demo in one of the old 360 threads but I don't think anyone cared.

Yes, just got it. Also, Carcassonne is still free.

Hey, do we have a thread that lists all the free stuff on Xbox live?

Besides these two games, there are occasionally other short term or permanent free items. Games, themes, tv episodes, etc.

It would be cool to have them all listed in one place. Going to google it now, but a thread here would be nice.

I think it only tracks recent freebies.

Yep, just found it for the first time and it has 4 lame themes or picturepacks.

But there are, or have been temporarily, dozens of free things on XBLA. I used to browse the entire list occasionally the first year or two of the service, but there is too much content now to do that.

I found this link, not sure how up to date they have/will keep it. list of free content

Also, I see that they occasionally have sales on certain games, wish I had not had missed the deal on frogger for one.

I am downloading Aegis Wing for free now.

Well, trying to download since Undertow has locked up on me twice, requiring a hard reset of the 360!

Now Aegis crashed, it looks like I am well on my way to a second RROD!!

When you get online, you'll find the players (especially long-time players like me) ruthless. Often trapping your guys so no tiles could possibly free them, and trying to steal your cities all the time. It's quite the different experience from the single player.
