Man i hope we see an end to that problem in this generation.

Thanks for the comments and inputs guys, tried to DL it again last night and still no go for silver.
L&O, nah, i like my silver membership, it's free. And like you said, there are tons of things you can do and there's only one of you... So paying for Gold is pretty much like paying for a buffet that not only i can't eat much out of it, but it kinda take my times away from other stuffs (it's the mental thing, since you paid for it, why not take advantage of it, but not realizing where the lines of diminishing return and opportunity cost intersect). Of course, i can blame MS for looking down at silver members (it's a freaking demo for goodness sake) or just chill and read what others have to say and wait for my turn.

Of course, the whole online play thing means a lot to many, many people.
Hell, I'd pay $50 a year just to have PSN speed up their damn downloads.

i agree, on-line play takes you to a whole new level in the world of video game... Not only replaying the game is more fun, but playing with friends miles away alone is priceless. $50 (or less) is very little to pay for all that, totally agree
i guess it's really up to the individual... for me playing on-line means more stress (unless with people i know personally). Why? well, for one thing, i suck at a lot of games... Two, even if i'm good at few games (Tetris or other puzzle games), winning a match or having high scores in the gaming community don't mean much for me. See, able to move swiftly with your fingers on a game pad is not exactly something to be proud of, except maybe you're a professional gamer (getting paid that is). On the other hand, if something that involves intellectual thinking, it's different, e.g. like chess, i don't mind a high ranking at all
(but i suck at chess as well, i play go though, only if i can get to the Dan level, currently 5 Kyu).

The holding off of 360 demos for Silver members is utterly retarded in my book. I also got caught out on it because my Gold membership is on the Japan network but I logged on to the US using my Silver ID to get "the Club" demo and of course was refused the ability to download it. Ditto for "Turok".
Anyway, in the end I'm sure publishers just want to sell more copies of their games, and I bet there are some number of silver users who, hyped on the demo announcement, rush to download the game, get rejected, then probably never go back.

Always good to see another Go gamer and would love more Go discussion.

In the end, having demos available to all means getting more opinions out there on the demos and more opportunity for forum discussion which is a positive. And frankly, while I would love to get more value for my Gold membership (yes I am a paid member), I want something FAR more tangible than just taking away petty privileges from the lower tier members. Give me something I didn't already have.

totally OT, but wow, you study Go and teach it too? Awesome! *putting all differences aside, like the endless KOs, and giving you a virtual hand shake and pat on the back* KGS is a more controlled environment (easy), but IGS got some raw players (hard). However, things could be different now (i haven't play on-line for a while, too competitive, too stressful, too addictive). While i find it distasteful that MS don't allow silver members DL demos like gold members, but i respect the fact the gold members paid for the privileges.

And i thought the Go comments were OT... but it's pretty funny, so laugh up
You know, speaking of Go (anime fans, check out Hikaru no go), there's no Go games
If there's one for the X360, i'll gladly pay $50 a year for gold membership (i know, know, selfish, but it's all about my needs).

They instituted this last year, although you do need their Windows Live email address. I haven't actually used it, but it seems like it's pretty simple.

Anyone played Overlord? I kinda liked the demo and just bit on a cheap used version on ebay. It's worth $20-$25 isn't it? I figured at that price, I won't really lose much by trying it out. Beats waitng and waiting for it to show up from gameznflix (a.k.a take your money promptly every month and send you old games........eventually).
