I think you missed the point of Shumway's remark.

What I love is the whole pro-debate about the install of DMC on the PS3. No more load screens! So instead of 10 second load screens you combine them all into one giant half hour install. Six of one, half dozen of another.

But then you never have to see load screens while playing the game, presumably. However, PS3 version will always lack that which 360 has... Achievements! I'd say that's one of the main reasons that a multi-platform game sells more on 360, other than the fact that there's just more 360's out there.

Ahh but don't forget about your trophy room in Home when it launches sometime in 2040

Wow, i don't even want to know what are you going with that... if that's your opinion, i respect that. If that's sarcasm, fine by me, since this is the X360 forum. If there's any truth to that, wow, PS3 is one crappy system...

Not a slam by any regards. DMC is supposedly going to install upwards of 5GB of data on the PS3 because the BD drive isn't fast enough to access it on the fly. The benefit is little to no load times. I've seen the pro-Sony arguments saying this is the greatest thing ever which I don't quite get.

Regardless it isn't a game I'm interested in anyway, but could set a bad precedent for future titles.

I'd say that's one of the main reasons, the others being:
1. Xbox Live (this includes the interface, but also the possibility that friends buying the game also have an xbox)
2. The Xbox controller (I don't see much of a difference, but people seem to love the staggered analog sticks over the dualshock)
3. Inferior version being released on the PS3, for one reason or another (I guess you can lump achievements into here, if you're into that)

Although it seems like Unreal Tournament 3, if it does come out on the 360, will be inferior to the PS3 version, since I don't see MS allowing people to create their own mods to the game and upload to their hard drives.

I like my PS3 so far, but yeah, the installs are a low point.

Not just their positioning but the rubber material and convex design of them which makes them hard to grip with your thumbs. There are also the weak shoulder 'triggers' and the overall non-ergonomic feel of the controller.

anyway...carry on.

Then why litter the thread with an even less meaningful post? Please think before posting in the future.

If you go to www.1up.com they have a pretty good preview of DMC4 up. They go over pros and cons for both consoles. Apparently PS3 will still have load times, just slightly shorter ones. 360 is supposed to have a little screen tearing.

b/c i want to read more reactions to the X360 demo... i can't DL the demo yet... I mean come on now, all the talk and no walk? what ever happen to "oh snap, another exclusive down the drain?" I mean, we're gamers right? Naturally, if a title previously exclusive to PS2/PS3 coming to X360, as a X360 owner, i'm definitely a happy camper. Thanks to SteelgearX and Gromit (post #193 and #194) for the input though. Unless you guys/gals are all silver too?

I'm curious about that, do PS3 games run with V-sync? I notice there seems to be more screen tearing on the 360.

Reading the thread that's fine. Posting a "Uhh, nothing here. Checking other thread." comment adds nothing at all to the forum. That's what I'm talking about.

No clue what you're talking about with talk and no walk. Makes no sense.

Well, aren't you guys hyped about the DMC4 demo on the X360? I mean, i don't know, i was expecting a more active discussion of the demo here... it seems to me that you guys don't give a hoot about this game on the X360 at all, that's what i meant. Anyway, how long i have to wait till the demo is available for silver members? I'm guessing this weekend, b/c the game is out next week.

Cause the 360 has a ton of games and demos for us to play, we're all busy with those!

Not sure about the delay between gold/silver. Could be a week, could be after release. Why not sign up for gold? it's the cost of a game spread out over a year...very reasonable.

There has been minimal hype for this game from both sides. DMC has been a wildly uneven series, so it's expected.

A question: If I buy an Xbox Live Points card, and e-mail the code to somebody; they can enter the code on the console without physically having the card, right? I'm thinking of sending some points to someone via e-mail as a gift.

Yup - no problem as long as you give them the full code.

Well I put in a little bit of time on it. There's 2 demos actually, one that's a chunk of a level, and another which I think is a boss battle (haven't tried it yet). There's a 10 minute limit on the first demo, regardless of how far you've made it, which I think is the wrong way to do it. I say this because it felt like I was just warming up to the demo when it ended, and I know I probably didn't get as far as the developers planned, because I got lost a couple of times and spent some extra time trying to learn the moves. Anyway, I play to try it again some time.

I'd say that the gameplay is pretty much normal DMC plus extremely pretty graphics. I've only played the first DMC a bit when I borrowed the game off a friend but never got that far in it. I guess I haven't really decided if I care about this one yet. Of course if you're after this type of game on 360 it's pretty much a no brainer.

I'm not really looking forward to this game much, but tearing is the one thing in games that aggravates me the most visually. There was a great game on the OG Xbox that had some severe tearing issues that made me super-nauseous. (the game was one where you controlled a little robot guy and collected lug nuts and and such... was kind of a platformer). I remember it being really fun except for the tearing.

Man i hope we see an end to that problem in this generation.
