And this is exactly why they should just give points away. Even make it something you have to access within the same Wed-Sun window if you don't want to give it to everyone.

I don't have Undertow yet, so I'll get it, but I sure wouldn't complain if they just gave 400 points instead (even if UT sells for 800).

This is what Major Nelson said in a comment responding to this complaint:

If you have already purchased the game, you can contact support and they will take care of you.

Next time you pull the trigger on an arcade title, drop a line here so everyone else knows to hold off on the impending free release.

Undertow!

http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/939205.asp

It's averaging a 82%, with IGN giving it 87%. There is 2 player co-op, plus 16 player online battle.

Sounds like it might be priced just right!

Undertow is a great choice. I'll gladly take an 800 point game for a few hours of downtime. That's like at least two-three months of service worth of value, even if you paid full price.

Looks like I'm going to get an 800 point credit (I got disconnected during the process). If that does happen, I'll be very pleased. And Corvin, I was eyeing Switchball, so don't buy that one yet...

Apparently, it's an easy 200/200, the only real difficulty right now is finding the people online for the achievements there, but that will not be a problem when it's free. Just look at Carcassone, it's still a top 10 most played weekly according to 360voice, and usually around #1.

Not overly thrilled about the game choice but it's better than just saying I'm sorry.

Quick question, are Live Arcade games linked exclusively to your gamertag? Me and a friend were talking last night, and wondering, lets say if you sell your 360, and delete your profile/gamertag, would the XBLA games work for the next person?

If the games were DLed on that console and were not deleted, then the games would still be on there. Once deleted though, they'd be gone.

I don't get the lack of enthusism about Undertow. I think it's a great game; besides Bomberman, it's probably the best MP game on XBLA. Until yesterday, I never regretted my purchase.

So when is Undertow supposed to be available for free d/l? As of today, it's not... then again, my Live service is spotty at best this afternoon.

We need 3 more people to join up for the second DVD Talk Gamerscore Challenge. Link is below...it's for 30 days, to allow a more relaxed pace for those of us who can't go without working or sleeping.

Signed up.

Saw these challenges posted most of the time, decided to try this one since it's at a pace I can deal with.

Guess I'll have to give MS a call since my 360 is in for repairs during the free-download time of Undertow.

I have a question about the 360s with HDMI. Any HDMI cable can be used, correct? From what I remember reading here before, the only problem is when you want to use HDMI for the video, but optical for the audio. In that case, you need a special adapter from MS, right? My boss wants to get a 360 Elite, but can't find it in stock anywhere, so he's considering getting a Pro bundle (or whatever its called). I know the Pro bundle doesn't come with an HDMI cable, and I told him he could probably just use an HDMI cable he already has instead of buying a special branded MS one (if they even make those). But before he pulls the trigger, I told him I'd find out for sure.

Any HDMI cable should work. If he needs one, of course monoprice.com comes to mind for the best price.

As for the audio adapter, check around the GS/EBs in your area. I was able to find one that was traded in, bought it for $9. Otherwise, it's bundled with an HDMI cable for around $50 brand new I think.
