Kid's got a point. Should someone who doesn't know how to play them review them?

You can tell if it was Pinata based on the voice. if it sounded like a Good Ol' Boy with the voice of a 9 year old, then it was him.

Re: Deus Ex 3 Teaser

Loving this game. It feels very old school in the best way possible. I love all the options you're given and how open ended the game feels, even though it has a very linear progression.

Hacking is great fun. I was in a large room filled with baddies in the FEMA facility (I think), and noticed a turret inside. I found the security terminal and hacked the turret to attack enemies only and watched through a window as the turret mowed down like, ten enemies.

Question: Do you return to Detroit at all after arriving in China? I kind of burned through the Detroit missions for Sarif without doing many sidequests, thinking I would be in the area for a while, but now I'm in China and feel like I missed out on a lot. If not, I will probably load an old save and play on from there.

XFX Promo

I'm calling up TigerDirect right now since they're one of the participating retailers and I just ordered a XFX Radeon HD 6850 from them.

I just got past the first boss yesterday. It was out of place, but not as terrible as I had been led to believe.

Re: Deus Ex 3 Teaser

Barrett was a real bitch to kill and very frustrating if you don't have the right equipment.
I was not prepared and only had 2 frag grenades.
i spent about 2 hours trying to kill him and finally got lucky when he shot one of the red barrels near him and killed himself.

so i want to be prepared for the next boss, what do i need to make the next boss easier?
who is the next boss?

Re: Deus Ex 3 Teaser

Do you need the increased strength augment in order to pick up those red barrels? I just tossed two of those at him and he died. Of course this was after I died a dozen times forgetting that I had that augment to even think about trying to do that.

Re: Deus Ex 3 Teaser

A couple hits with typhoon (lvl 1) killed the next boss for me in about 2 seconds.

Re: Deus Ex 3 Teaser

I didn't have augmented strength. I chucked a few red barrels at him and then used the stun gun to stun him, then switched to shotgun or auto-pistol and unloaded on him. Rinse and repeat, using saves as needed.

Hmm, guess I'll load my old game then. Unfortunately the only other save I have before China is immidiately before you get on the plane to leave. I hope it isn't a problem that I take my time... because the rest of my saves are way at the beginning.

Are there even many quests in Detroit at this point? I did the one where I retrieve that incriminating evidence against the lab guy, and the one where you investigate for what's-her-name's mom.

Also, I think this was mentioned, but if you use a tranq dart on someone, do they ever wake up? Seems kind of lame that they don't...

In the sidequest I mentioned above, where you have to take out those two drug dealers/gangsters, I climbed to the roof and tranqed them with my rifle, expecting to be have to go down, drag them away, and finish the job away from prying eyes, only to find the objective complete after they fell asleep.

Hmm, are you playing on Hard or something? I wonder if augmented strength helped, but he literally took two direct hits from me tossing the barrels at him and he died.

Re: Deus Ex: Human Revolution

Wait a second, so the only way I can have a suppressed sniper rifle is if I have the pre-order DLC? How fucking lame is that!? That explains the reason why for some inane reason you can't attach a silencer to the sniper rifle.

I picked the middle option, I forget what it was called. "Give Me a Challenge", I think?

Re: Deus Ex: Human Revolution

I'm in China now, but I've only found three side missions so far.

Spoiler:
One to find the prostitutes friend and save her from being augmented, one to frame her boss with drugs, and one for the mafia tracking down some poor girl to pay them up.

Are there anymore?

Yeah.

Spoiler:
Your pilot has one where you find this guy that killed her friend and get him to confess to the crime. It's pretty fun, actually.

I don't think I found the mafia one. Where is that?

Re: Deus Ex: Human Revolution

The more I play this game, the more I enjoy it. It really does a good job of capturing the feel of the original Deus Ex, which I loved.

I own the first two on steam. Is it important story wise to play through them first?

I doubt it since this new game is a prequel that takes place about a quarter of a century before the first.

Not important. There's just little nods to characters or things in the previous games, but that's all.
