I loved the first one, but only played the 2nd game for a short while before getting bored. Here's hoping the 3rd one rocks.

Interesting. I had no idea this game was coming.

I'm sure I was one of those complaining about the second game at the time, but I did have fun with it and did play all the way through. I'd prefer the third game to be closer in style to the first than the second, but I'll likely play it either way if it gets fairly decent reviews.

Deus Ex is a phenomenal game, and Deus Ex 2 was very underrated by "pc purists" (read, elitists). I personally can't wait to see what they have in store for us. Count me in!

I loved the first one and I think I liked the second one -- I know I played it all the way through but I can't remember a single thing about it. I'm going to have to go to Wikipedia or something to review the story :lol:

Hmmm... if Deus Ex 3 happens, can Thief 4 be far behind? -pray-

Ion Storm did say they were planning Deus Ex 3, but then they went bankrupt a few months later... I never heard that another developer had picked up the rights to the game though.

I enjoy PC gaming, but I am not an elitist by any means. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see just how much Deus Ex 2 was "dumbed down" though. They are night and day different. The original was superior in every way except for graphics.

I'm with you. Very few things would excite me as much as a new Thief game. :drool:

Loved the 2nd (XBOX), never finished the first - but got close (PS2), and was really disappointed when Deus Ex 3 was stripped and released as Project Snowblind (at least that was the rumor). Glad to see another entry in the series is coming :)

Jean-Francois Dugas : Yes. Being a prequel to the original game, our story starts about 25 years before the start of the first game. Although Deus Ex: Human Revolution will end and segue nicely into the start of the first game, and you may meet some familiar characters along the way, the story is self-contained so players new to the franchise won't have any problem getting into the game and understanding it.

I saw this last night. I was blown away. I wasn't expecting it at all.

Since it's 25 years before Deus Ex, do we see a real young Paul and JC?

I'd totally forgotten this had been announced (and that I'd commented on it here). The trailer looks pretty cool - hopefully the game won't disappoint.

I'm glad to see it's single-player only and that it still seems to have a PC release slated.

That trailer is unbelievably amazing, so much I fear the gameplay can't live up to it. I'd honestly love to see an animated feature film instead.

I'm way late to the pary but it looks darned promising. I've never played the first two games. I guess it'sa good thing this is essentially a prequel. My only fear is from the Square-Enix logo at the beginning. I hope they only put up the money and had no creative input whatsoever.

I didn't know Square purchased Eidos. But if all they're doing is publishing the game and not really calling the shots in terms of the narrative, I'll be a happy gamer.
