Each game pretty much does the same thing (over and over), albeit in slightly different settings reflecting each movie. RotJ just does it better than the other two and has more polish - getting all three would be more than redundant.

I hated the sandcrawler level in Super Star Wars, I'd always fall into the lava.

And I never, ever, beat the final level (the "trench run")

Re: The One and Only Virtual Console Thread (Wii)

http://kotaku.com/5337549/tecmo-addi...console-arcade

New ESRB ratings indicate that Tecmo is planning to inject some life into the incredibly dull Wii Virtual Console Arcade lineup, with new ratings for Ninja Gaiden, Solomon's Key and Rygar.

Those three Tecmo arcade games all spawned NES ports, with Ninja Gaiden remarkably different from its arcade predecessor. While we haven't seen an announcement for those three newly rated titles, Tecmo recently brought the arcade version of Tecmo Bowl to the Virtual Console Arcade. It appears its plans don't stop there.

No word yet on when we can expect to see the arcade versions of Ninja Gaiden, Solomon's Key and Rygar available via the Wii Shop Channel, but we're just glad to see something happening on the VC Arcade front.

Ninja Gaiden arcade version... nice! Graphics are quite a bit step up from the Atari Lynx version that I remember fondly almost 20 years ago. Maybe Sega can tie in the arcade version of Shinobi.

Isn't the NG arcade game an unlockable extra in one of the newer NG games?

No. The NES games were in the modern NG1.

Even if it was, I don't see how that would help Wii users.

You sound so confident - you wanna put money on it?

Spoiler:
It's an unlockable in NG:Black (which is nicely backwards-compatible w/ the 360):
Arcade Ninja Gaiden:
Complete the game on Ninja Dog or Normal difficulty with the "Ninja Gaiden Arcade" item, or complete the game on Hard.
I actually have it unlocked, but never tried it out

I didn't know that. I didn't play NG:Black because I had the first version.

Sweet! Revenge of Shinobi. Hopefully it'll sell well and we can get some http://forum.dvdtalk.com/video-game-...aw-blades.html soon.

Re: The One and Only Virtual Console Thread (Wii)

I remember Revenge of Shinobi having Spider-man and Batman as bosses to battle. I've heard that they've been removed in newer compilation versions, but it would be cool if we could have the original to play.

One of the games expected today for DSiWare is Pop Plus and it looks pretty interesting. May have to drop 500 points on it.

Uno looks good also, but I just hope enough DSi owners get it to make the online play worth it.

Anyone play through Super Star Wars yet? I only did the first level so far. It's still amazing how they managed to squeeze John Williams score onto those carts.

I owned it when it originally came out, and the music was probably my favorite part of the game. Superb score.
