Re: The One and Only Virtual Console Thread (Wii)
Yep, it was actually a different game originally in Japan titled Ashura that was similar to Ikari Warriors & Commando, but Sega got the Rambo license in the USA and then, much like Nintendo did with SMB2 in America, switched out the character sprite to one that looks like Stallone for release here....
Secret Command is the European release of the game, without the Rambo license but still containing the "Rambo" character sprite, though not named as such obviously.....

Possible sign that the complaints have been heard and we will get 2 VC releases from now on?
I assume we won't get Contra for a long time now since the window has pretty much closed from today til Rebirth is released.

I guess since they gave us TWO whole VC games last week, they figure we're covered for this week. Or maybe they don't want to compete with XBLA's summer of arcade.

Re: The One and Only Virtual Console Thread (Wii)
Wow I really wish they had demos. ZENGAGE is definitely not for me. I played with it for awhile, but like most artstyle games the difficulty ramps up super fast and I really don't like the puzzle concept in general. Not too big of a deal since I'm spending Pepsi cap points and it was cheap, but a game I will probably never play again and I can't even give it away since it is locked to my DSi.

Re: The One and Only Virtual Console Thread (Wii)
I'll get Tales of Monkey Island on the PC so nothing for me.
On the DSi front, I spent more time with Zengage and I am liking it more. The later puzzles start putting in arrows that move your pieces around and some of that strategy is very interesting. Still not a great game, but better the more I play it.
I also picked up Mighty Flip Champs and that one is fantastic. Fun and clever puzzles, cool art style and it seems like it has quite a few levels for 800 points.

This was posted on Go Nintendo.
Hopefully not true, but probably is. If they would skip the stupid ESRB rating these games on VC might make money. Spending 20 grand on that for games that only sell a hundred copies is really bad business.
"We understand your concern about the lack of service on the VC as of late. Due to sales numbers being far greater recently on Wiiware than on Virtual Console, we have decided to steer in the direction of WiiWare. Also, we in America have NO plans to update the Internet Channel or the Nintendo Channel. We hope you understand”

Re: The One and Only Virtual Console Thread (Wii)
That's a self-fulfilling prophecy if I've ever heard one. "VC isn't making much money, so instead of releasing top-tier titles which will sell well, we're abandoning it altogether."
