I'm not enjoying the minigames as much this time through, but the game overall is holding up very well for me. I'm enjoying this run through memory lane so much that I'm buying Ys on the VC and playing that next. I've really gotten into a retro mode after playing SMRPG

Mega Man 2 (the best in the series IMO) is the VC title for the week. I played through most of the Mega Man titles on the GameCube collection, but it is worth noting that the emulation on that set was not perfect especially sound wise. If you want an NES perfect version this is probably worth your 500 points.

What I would think would be kewl in the future of the Wii is if they somehow find a way to enable online play with interactive users for old Nintendo Games.
What I mean is the games that are 2 player like fighting games (Street Fighter, etc) It would be kewl if they made it to where we can fight anyone online like with Wii Games. But that probably will never happen. I am ordering my Wii Console with 5 games on Thursday.
I would love it if they released
Goldeneye (prob not though)
Diddy Kong Racing
Donkey Kong 64
Turok
Mega Man 3 (the only mega man I ever played
Super Mario All Stars

I'm really curious what happened with Zombies Ate My Neighbors. It got rated by the ersb right after the Wii came out, but nothing has happened with it since.

I am all about Super Turrican 2 - the Turrican series is one of the best side-scrolling shooters out there and this completes the Turrican trilogy on the VC. Good times!

Couple of excellent titles on VC today.
Mario Golf N64 was Camelot's first Hot Shots style game for Nintendo and its pretty good. I liked the more RPG style GameBoy games, but I did prefer this version of Mario Golf to the later GameCube one.
Shining Force II is a Tactical RPG classic on the Genesis. It has appeared on collections before but worth getting here if you have never played it.

I thought last week was good, but this week is Secret of Mana and the Sega Genesis Street Fighter II: Championship Edition. Most though Square would not release their RPGs on VC, but this is a great start. Easily the masterpiece of the Mana series.

Wow - Secret of Mana was among the top-3 best RPGs on the SNES (along with FF3 (aka6) and Chrono Trigger). I still have my SNES cart, but I might plunk down for the VC of it too.

Secret of Mana is probably on my list of the top 3 SNES games. I still have the original cartridge though, so I don't think I'll buy the VC version. It's a great option for those who never played it before or who don't have the SNES version handy.

I use a media server for streaming video and running my magicjack phone, and I've been dabbling for months with getting an arcade front-end going on it and moving it to the audio rack. My number one want was Secret of Mana. I'm glad I can play it now and keep putzing with the arcade HTPC project at its normally snail's pace.

I'm just glad I'm able to buy back more and more old SNES titles I got greedy and sold for hundreds of dollars for 800 points a piece. Granted I don't have the box and manual anymore, but they are at least console perfect emulations and I needed that money to fund my current game purchases. Hopefully Earthbound will be up soon.

Finally! Earthworm Jim!
WiiWare
Strong Bad Episode 3: Baddest of the Bands (Telltale Games, 1 player, Rated E10+ for Everyone 10 and Older - Alcohol Reference, Crude Humor, Mild Cartoon Violence, Mild Suggestive Themes, 1,000 Wii Points): Rock and roll! Hurting for cash, Strong Bad sets out to dominate the “Battle Royale of the Bands.” Can he rule the stage and win the big prize? Or will he be drowned out by the competition? Find out in this high-voltage episode.
Art Style: ROTOHEX™ (Nintendo, 1-2 players, Rated E for Everyone, 600 Wii Points): Use colored triangular panels to create a vibrant mosaic of stained glass in Art Style: ROTOHEX. As triangles fall from the top of the screen, rotate them to group six panels of the same color and create a matching hexagon, or HEX. Once the HEX has been formed, it will disappear, allowing the existing panels to shift and more panels to fill the playing field. A clear-cut goal and two different styles of intuitive controls allow you to focus solely on the game play-which is vital, as the playing field will be full of panels before you know it. With multiple modes (unlock more as you progress further in SOLO mode), special item panels at your disposal, and the ability to play cooperatively or competitively with a friend, there will always be another HEX to create.
Virtual Console
Earthworm Jim (Sega Genesis, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone - Animated Violence, 800 Wii Points): Jim was an ordinary earthworm who did very earthworm-like things, such as flee from crows and eat dirt. One day, during an outer space fight, a suit drops to Earth and falls around Jim. It mutates him into a large and intelligent (at least by earthworm standards) superhero. Play as Jim in this Sega Genesis classic. When Jim learns of the evil plans of Psy-Crow and Queen Slug-for-a-Butt, he decides to rescue Princess What's-Her-Name. Run, gun, swing on hooks by your head and launch cows at the interesting characters you meet along the way, such as Major Mucus, Chuck and Fifi, Evil the Cat, and Bob the Killer Goldfish.

Never played Earthworm Jim. I have some points that are just rotting in my account. I may have to give it a shot.
