I think its pretty decent. Mighty Flip Champs looks like it could be a very good puzzle platformer (though at 800 points I'm probably passing), FFIV the After Years has me curious to see if a cell phone game could turn into a good Wii game and Boulder Dash is a C64 classic, but this just released as a remake on iPhone.

Bozon on one of the past IGN podcasts gave the impression that Way Forward was forced to charge 800 points for Mighty Flip Champs by Nintendo. No idea if that is true, but it sounded like they wanted it to be a 500 point title instead.

Re: The One and Only Virtual Console Thread (Wii)

I totally blind-bought Mighty Flip Champs on DSiWare last night...and I love it!

It is well worth the 800 points if you ask me, and it's getting great reviews:

http://dsiware.nintendolife.com/revi...champs_dsiware

Here is a decent video someone on YouTube put together explaining/reviewing it:

<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/zbuz2zSBeVI&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/zbuz2zSBeVI&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>

Don't let the 800 points scare you off. This is exactly the sort of original title that I was hoping would make it to the DSiWare store.

I also bought Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again! for 800 points, and it was also well worth it to me.

I made this one my first DSi purchase. It is fun and definitely worth 800 points, but it is worth mentioning that it is a big step back from March of the Minis on DS. The new game takes away all of your control of the minis and forces you to have them all running at once since the door is now timed to close soon after the first mini goes through it. So far all the puzzle areas are single screen instead of the large puzzle areas of the previous one. You end up just starting them and moving around blocks to try and guide them to the door.

Not that it makes the game bad just different. It lacks all the depth the last game had since you had full control of that one and you had to separate them on some puzzles to get a mini to open a path for the others. I also liked that you could stop minis and that you didn't have to have them all exit at the same time.

This is still a good game and it has a lot of content even without the downloadable stuff. It is more basic, but it is also a bargain at 800 points.

Oh look at that, one VC title.

They have so many consoles to pick from (9, right?), and arcade games on top of that, spanning over 20 years of release, and they put out only ONE fucking VC game out each week. Unbelievable.

^ Not to mention that it costs NEXT TO NOTHING to port that code over if the emulators are already done, yet they still charge as much as new WW and DSiWare titles.

VC is where the profit is, morans!

I'm more annoyed at the shitty DSiWare "clocks n' calculators" shovelware. I hope they're done with that for a while and give us more good stuff like Art Style games, Mario vs. DK, and Mighty Flip Champs.

Re: The One and Only Virtual Console Thread (Wii)

Even one game per system per week would seem slow, but one VC title per week is crazy. I generally forget the VC exists for months at a time, and then when I check back in there will be a SNES game I'm somewhat interested in or a $5 C64 game I'd like to play again if it wasn't $5. If the prices were somewhat lower and the output significantly increased I'd be much more interested in the VC.

I don't like giving props to Sony, but they have turned their A game on in getting out their huge titles onto PSN immediately. Nintendo should have learned. They killed the cash cow by not feeding it.

Re: The One and Only Virtual Console Thread (Wii)

DSi is still fairly new and we already have 3 fucking clocks for it? Unbelievable. Clocks by the way that are completely useless unless you launch them and keep your DSi on with the lid closed. Oh and this is also something already built into every DS and DSi. Nice that they charge 200 points each for that crap too.

Anyway, I have played through most of Minis March Again and want to stress again that unlike ripoff clocks and calculators this is definitely worth buying. 100 puzzle levels, plus a crapload of DLC. The puzzles are a bit easier this time since they simplified the mechanics, but they are just as much fun to figure out and when you unlock the Basement, Roof and + levels they can get a bit diabolical as you are moving the blocks very quickly to keep your minis from falling to their deaths.

Where are the WiiWare versions of Diner Dash/time management games? I love these types of games and they are still very popular. Yet not a one on WiiWare.

Also hidden object games like Mystery Case Files? Where are these?
