River City Ransom is one of the top 3 games I've wanted since I first heard about the VC. Soooooo glad it's finally coming!

glad to see I wasn't the only geek who did this
A couple of years ago I was at my mom's house and found my notebook with my game-by-game stats in it - it took me a minute to realize what it was.
My team was Kansas - Patty and Baker were a regular Mantle and Maris!

Everybody join me in welcoming Interplay to the VC: http://next-gen.biz/index.php?option...10109&Itemid=2
Cannot wait for Earthworm Jim!
Interplay will be launching the Genesis games Earthworm Jim 1 and 2, Boogerman and Clay Fighter on the Virtual Console "later this year."

It's too bad that they're releasing the Genesis versions of Earthwork Jim - I remember the SNES versions of Earthworm Jim (1 and 2) being far superior - same with Clayfighter.

Compare the two versions on youtube - the Genesis version has some more animations, but the SNES has more detail and better colors. And the SNES controlled a lot better and was much more responsive - the controls on the Genesis were a lot more floaty. But whatever, I got rid of my Genesis a long time ago, and I still have my SNES and all the games.

Nothing official. DS would appear to be a technical impossibility, not to mention a financial blunder when the DS still exists. Notice that Square-Enix also doesn't release to the VC because of the ability to resell the same games over and over on newer systems. Why give DQ4 away for $5 on the VC when a DS version will run $40 and sell many more copies.
GB/GBC/GBA (in diminishing order) make more sense for the VC due to the hardware being obsolete and/or harder to come by, but nothing's been mentioned afaik.
Game Gear is an obvious extension now that the SMS is available.

The DS could work... sort of. Other than the microphone, which isn't used that much anyways, the other DS features could be done. I don't think the Wiimote-as-a-stylus-replacement would work very well for most games though.
That being said, there is no way that we'll see DS games on the VC.

Ok, not "impossibility", but as Jeremy said, taking the 2.5" lcd with a stylus that you can work quickly and accurately on to a main display, many feet away, with spotty pointer accuracy at best just wouldn't translate well.
It's one thing when you port a DS game (like Trauma Center) to the Wii and utilize a single, full screen. But if the DS version of TC was available on the VC, you'd have to show both screens meaning your touch area would be about 1/6 of the total tv screen, center on the bottom half.
It just wouldn't work.

Why did they not release Super Mario Kart from the SNES today? Great day to tie it in to MK Wii.

Apparently Capcom came out and said that Bionic Commando will NOT be coming to the VC. They said they would like to but it is out of their hands. Speculation points to
That would require an M rating and apparently Nintendo doesn't want that on the VC.
As a (very) long time Nintendo fan it always seems to be four steps forward one step back with them. Just little things like this that are very irritating with the company.
I never understood why BC got so much flak with the Nazis being in it. They were still the bad guys.
