Super Turrican is one of the best run/jump/shoot games on the SNES - even though I still have the cart, I'm totally getting it on the VC.

But is that the only game this week?

I might get the DoReMi game - looks like a fun platformer that the US missed out on.

I was playing SSBB last night and saw the Little Mac trophy which made me want Punch-Out... so I bought it. I forgot how much I enjoyed that game!

So can anyone tell me anything about Spelunker? I used to love it on the Commodore 64. Is this the same game?

Good 'ole wiki. Thanks. I always forget to check there. Might pick it up later. I've been disappointed with my last two purchases which were blind buys. Hopefully nostalgia doesn't burn me on this one.

I never got in to the game on NES. Never tried it on Commodore 64 either though...

Holy brutal unforgiveness. Damn it is easy to die in this game. Not to the point of being frustrating yet, but I can see it getting there.

It's like they want people to forget there even is a VC.

It's working on me. I expect to see the VC ended in the US. The say it costs $15,000 to ESRB rate each game (something they don't have to do but they are so paranoid about lawsuits) so most games lose money or don't make enough to hassle with.

Demos of all games would help a lot.

You've got to be kidding me! How in the holy flip does the ESRB get away with charging $15,000 just to rate a game. If it is a multimillion dollar blockbuster yeah I guess I can understand it's just a drop in the bucket. But for these old school games and the small developer type games that becomes a big percentage.

It would but they really just need to release good games and those will sell themselves. How in the world did they miss the opportunity to release the 64 Smash Bros?

They also didn't release the original Contra yet and they had a perfect opportunity to with the release of Contra 4.

It seems like they are concentrating on WiiWare or something.

Sucks.

I haven't gotten excited about a VC release since SMB3.

Demos wouldn't be necessary if the games were cheaper. There would be a lot more impulse buys going on.

The important thing to note is there is no need to ESRB rate any of the games on VC since the Wii is the exclusive distribution point for them. Not to mention the vast majority of the games from the NES and SNES era will be E or T anyway. Nintendo could easily just make a note themselves at the age group the games are appropriate for and save the 15 grand.

I'm also shocked at all the missed opportunities mentioned above. How do you not ready Smash Bros or Contra for release a week or two before the new game to get those tie in sales?

And the games will never be cheaper because of that $15,000 ESRB rating fee. Grr.

MS rates their XBL games too I think. I agree there probably shouldn't be a reason to rate them, but I feel like, if I remember correctly, there's some reason they have to.
