The poster/painting in the botanist's office. Hard to miss with that obnoxious glow.

My guess is that you can't disable it, but I figured I'd ask. It's a minor complaint but it did irk me in this instance.
I could've sworn I've seen it in the options... Maybe it's not possible to change the setting in game (as I am right now), trying setting the options on the main menu. I could've sworn I saw a setting for item glowing.

Also, for those who have beaten the game...

Spoiler:

So who or what was in the submarine that Atlas/Fontaine had us racing to that Ryan blew up? Was it really Fontaine's family? ADAM? What could it have been? If they mentioned it somewhere, then I can't believe I missed it.

My game has been having stuttering issues as well.

back at Fort Frolic, you can't unlock the weapon achievement.

Let me know if you want a full description of all the weapon machines.
Crap, I didn't realize this. I think that I am pretty close to finishing the game, so I might go through it again, just trying to get some more achievements.

Flay, do you have any other tips like above to help get achievements? A full description of weapon machines would be nice as well. Thanks

Sure. Here are some general tips:

- Due to a story spoiler, there is an insanely awesome time to go finish collecting tonics / tape recordings / weapon upgrades / research right before loading the final boss level. That's when you should hit the Bathosphere and scour the levels for missing items.

- There are 5 tape recorders that have to be picked up during the natural course of the game. Since they are in areas that cannot be returned to, there is no point in going for the recordings achievement unless you have them. They are
Spoiler:
Opening Level: Diane McClintock-New Year's Eve Alone, Steve Barker-Hole In Bathroom Wall
&
Hephaestus - Rapture Central Control: Suchong-The Vita Chamber, Suchong - Mind Control Test, Suchong - Baby Status

- You cannot unlock the tonic achievement unless you take the Little Sister saving path. There are 3 tonics that cannot be purchased, found, or made.

- As for the two 10 point secret achievements (Non-story spoilers):
Spoiler:
Never, ever kill Cohen in Fort Frolic. You have a chance to kill him later in the game at Olympic Heights, which will unlock both "Take a picture of his corpse" and "Accessed Cohen's personal quarters" Also, you get one of the weapon upgrades in the apartment

- Here is the list for the weapon upgrade locations complied by Ruzlix at A360p:
Spoiler:
#01 - In Peach Wilkins' hideout (Neptune's Bounty), bottom floor. As soon as you come downstairs it's directly in front of you.
#02 - On the way to Farmer's Market in Arcadia, the station is located to the left after you go up the first stairs coming from Tree Farm.
#03 - The Winery's basement in Farmer's Market. There's a flooded area with one of them attached to the wall. It's in front of you when you come down the stairs, just keep going forward.
#04 - In Fort Frolic, from the Atrium bottom floor, go towards the bathrooms and then head right and follow the path until you see some some small stairs to your right leading up to a door. Go in there and go down into the basement. The basement is filled with cigars and the like. On the wall here is the upgrade station.
#05 - Go to Poseidon Plaza in Fort Frolic and go to the other end of the bottom floor (the opposite end of where you enter). Go into Sinclair Spirits (the room that has a corpse on a sort of "altar"). In the basement of this store is the station.
#06 - Hephaestus Core Room, go down to bottom floor and run around (literary) and eventually you'll see it attached to the wall.
#07 - Hephaestus, in Kyburz's office. Attached to the left wall (back turned to entrance) in the back of the room.
#08 - Bottom floor of the Mercury Suites area, on the back of the center pillar.
#09 - In Sander Cohen's secret room, Olympus Heights' Mercury Suites area.
#10 - Go to Atlas' Headquarters in Apollo Square (Fontaine's Home For The Poor area). It's located on the fourth floor. Go down the stairs in the room and look to the right and the station will be in front of you.
#11 - When you enter Point Prometheus and chase Fontaine, eventually you will end up in a little square and Fontaine will go behind a locked Museum door. At the opposite end, from where you came, of this square is a dead Big Daddy and next to it is the upgrade.
#12 - In the Voice changing labs in Point Prometheus, one of the labs has it.

This is more of a question than spoiler. Why did I encounter (3) Big Daddy's to one Little Sister in the Medical Pravilion?

I decided to go back a little fearing something I missed (I did) and on my way back to the Emergency Escape you encounter your "First" Big Daddy. Atlas says something about the Little Sister and taking out B.D. Ok I did (downstairs) so I come back up and there's another one. Ok I did ...again downstairs...and again another one pops up. I'm about to say the heck with Little Sister if these things keep coming out of the woodwork. Am I missing something?

There are plenty of Big Daddies walking around without Little Sisters. After you save / harvest all the Little Sisters on a level, the Big Daddies will still wander around.

Also, you don't have to kill him. As long as his helmet glows yellow, you could walk right next to him all day long. You don't bother him, he won't bother you.

Yeah, the Big Daddies have one mission: Protect the Little Sisters as they harvest Adam. They will only attack you if you attack them first. There is one thing to be wary of, though. As the Big Daddies will wander a level after you have harvested/rescued the Little Sisters, if they get caught in the crossfire of a fight between you and a splicer, it will go on the offensive and then not only are you dealing with a few splicers, but an angry Big Daddy, too.

Spoiler:
I didn't realize there was a way out of Fort Frolic without killing Cohen. I presume you just run for the Bathysphere once he makes his appearance?

Spoiler:
He doesn't attack you. In fact, he rewards you with the Medical Tonic in the glass case nearby. Just let the blowhart finish his speech and you can walk away.

Ha! That'll teach me to shoot first and ask questions later.

Spoiler:
That also makes Ryan's radio message afterwards make a lot more sense, as he talks about Cohen letting me go and I was thinking, "Let me go? The guy tried to fry me half to death!"

I hope I didn't mess up part of my game.

Spoiler:
I started shooting at Cohen after I got the Medical Tonic from the case. I had him down to about a quarter of his health. I then died and when I came back to the area he was in, he was no where to be found. I don't know if he died, I assume he just went to wherever he goes if you just simply leave. I guess I will find out later in the game if I don't encounter him again.

any hints on killing these big daddys? They're a real bitch.

Also, do the teddy bears pop up at the same gatherer's garden?
I saved 3 little sisters and got a teddy and after I saved 3 more, the teddy did not pop up at the same gather's garden and i haven't found the teddy yet.

Spoiler:
they pop up at the stations where you can spend your adam, I'm sure you will see it next time you come across one. If you are fast enough you can see the girls coming in and out of the holes to drop it off.

As far as killing the daddies, shoot them...a lot. Honestly, they are just tough. Take photos of them enough and you increase your damage against them, that helps. You also get some hints when you take enough.

I finished this earlier today. I thought that I would want to go back to get some achievements, but I don't think so anymore. Great game, but I'd need a couple of months before I tackled it again, if ever.

For those suckers who bought the CE thinking the soundtrack was really the score, fret no longer. I saved myself some cash by only getting the regular edition, and I get the score too 12 tracks of orchestrated goodness.

Yep. Downloaded earlier. That is what SHOULD have been in the set, not that P.O.S. Moby disc. What the fuck were they thinking?

So after downloading that, and upon returning the Big Daddy and getting the artbook, the only thing remaining that should have been included was the metal tin.

That has got to be one of the shortest soundtracks ever. It's less than 20 minutes.

Played for another 3 hours or so tonight. If I had broken down and bought this instead of rented it I would of been more than happy. The scenery alone is almost worth the cost. My one friend who is anti FPS is already sick of me telling him to rent this thing.

As far as killing the Big Daddys....
Spoiler:
Shock, Shoot and Repeat. Explosive or electric shots work well. It will get easier. Just keep trying and keep taking pictures.

Yeah I upgraded to a lethal combo for Big Daddies

Spoiler:
Electro Bolt 2
Rapid Fire Shotgun
Electric bullets

They go down pretty quick for me now.
