Bioshock is out - Let's Discuss!

Old thread - http://forum.dvdtalk.com/showthread.php?t=509470

Now that the game is released SPOILERS are likely to appear in this thread. Read at your own risk.

regarding spoiler tags - If you are WAY ahead in the game (one of the early getters) maybe still use tags until the rest of us catch up? What does everyone think? I think that since the game is now officially out - the discussion should be pretty open.

So is the second or third "official" thread?

-
Left work this morning at 10 to pick mine up. GS is only about 5 minutes away.

My big daddy has a tiny piece broken off, not the entire arm. I'm disappointed about the case. I thought they were doing a metal case. Custom printed artwork is pretty weak. Anyone can scan that in and make it available for everyone else to print out. Weak. That was the whole point of the contest, design an image that works in Black and White so it can be embossed on metal. on that.

I had that issue early on, but it seems I was the only one around here(that had it early) that was having that issue. It was only the first couple of hours. I haven't had any issues since.

I'm debating picking it up now or waiting for them to fix the widescreen problem (are they?). I know I will start playing right away if I pick it up.

I'm tempted to stop by and check if I can rent this to keep me tied over until Metroid comes out.. not that I don't have enough on my plate as is, but it might be nice to play while everyone else is for discussion purposes.

The only one. As mentioned, the other was near 600 posts already, and with the release inevitably surging the posts I decided to swap to the new thread before tonight, so I can sit at home and play the fucking game instead of babysitting people on here

Just picked this up. If you have a Fry's Electronics close and haven't bought Bioshock yet I would suggest checking out Fry's

I was charged 39.99 for it..

There was no price on the shelf or on the game, and Fido's thread had it at 49.99 which is why I went. Found the last copy and when I checked out, I thought the guy said the price wrong... but he didn't.

Total was around $43 with tax.

Nice!

Now I'm going to go play.

Picked up my Collector's Edition at Gamestop this morning and am very dissapointed. Besides the figure and bonus discs, none of the other stuff that was pictured came with it...
It didn't even come in a metal tin case ffs.

Shitatsu. They've also got Godfather Wii for $24.99, I might have to make a trip after work.

I got Bioshock at the Burbank, CA Fry's

Like I said, there was no sign and no price on the game.

But it's in the computer for that price, which is a good sign.

I can't play it 'till later tonight (and I don't think I'll have enough time to even get past where the demo left off), but I am fondling the box right now...

Okay, I think I'll try calling first here in the T.X. Prices at Fry's fluctuate (sometimes wildly) between areas. If it's $39.99 here I'll make the trip and grab both games, if not.. Metroid still comes out in six days, hehe.

Would you kindly stop fondling the case?

I've got a wife and child locked up in Rapture and your gentle cuddling isn't bloody helping.

This was covered in the previous thread - that picture of all the doohickeys were were just possible inclusions of the LE set - they had people vote on them and the 3 most popular (dvd, soundtrack, figure) won out over the rest.

Now that I have the set, I can say that the soundtrack, at least, is an absolute waste of plastic, and wish that they gave us the metal-case instead. It has no music from the game - nothing - it's just 3 short songs, remixed by Moby. I would've taken any other extra over this piece of shit excuse of a soundtrack - even the stickers.
