When i first played the Demo i was so hyped up for this game. Then i got it on release day and was enjoying the heck out of it, but now...i find myself terribly bored.
At first i found the enviorments stunning but as the game flows along they seem terribly dull and like someone stated before, very cramped. And while there are many weapons and such, i dont find using them as diversly enjoybale as the makers stated they would be. Also the developers spoke alot about choices and how your going to be presented with many choices throughout the game, and the only choices presented really are whether you harvest or rescue the little sisters.
I'm a kind of gamer who most of the time stays really committed to whatever game i buy and see it to the end. But im having a hard time wanting to finish this one, i even went days without playing it. Before playing this i played The Darkness and really enjoyed that game, i thought i would enjoy this one more but i guess not.
Wanted to like this one but looks like its going to be a trade in....

I'm fairly far through the game, and so far I'm really, really enjoying it. I can see where people form their complaints, but I'm looking at the game as a whole, and finding it one of the most impressive games I've played in my 25 years of gaming.

I agree, I just finished playing the PC version on Medium (?). This game will be remembered as one of those "great" games. It's not a typical FPS ala Doom 3. I got the "good" ending and I thought from the philosophy that was thrown at you throughout the game plus your character, and how the first and only comment you make comes back "full circle." The ending was wonderful and very poignant.

I finished last night with the "good ending". The game was a tad too long for my tastes but that's my own fault - I searched high and low in every room. That said, the game was fantastic and while the ending was a bit short, it was a great ending to a great game.

Im off to Google the "bad ending" now.

I didn't put two and two together, but since I updated the game the other night, I hadn't played much. Fired it up last night to beat it and it was hitching every 10-15 seconds. I still managed to beat the game but it was frustrating. I'm glad it's a problem with the game and not with my system though.

I definitely want to play through the game again. I barely used 1/2 the weapons, and once I got the crossbow upgraded with the bolts that don't break it wasn't really necessary to use anything else. I only started using the chemical thrower towards the end, and only used the grenade launcher if I was desperate. And since towards the end I was killing Big Daddy's with a couple of incendiary bolts, it got a bit ridiculous.

Also, I pretty much used Inferno, Insect Swarm and Electro-Bolt the whole way through. For awhile I was using Winter Blast on the cameras but soon discovered it was more useful to hack them. I never used the Cyclone Trap, never got the Target Dummy or Enrage plasmids and didn't come close to upgrading most of them.

I also didn't use the camera very much at all, so there is definitely more to do on the next play through.

My game is stuttering like crazy, been like that after the update. It is really really frustrating. Companies should test their damn patches before releasing them.

Thanks, I will do that. Piss me off that devs don't test their updates.

Mine is stuttering like crazy as well.. To the point where I'm not going to play it until they fix it. I did the bumpers and that seemed to work... For about 5 minutes..

Question...

Spoiler:
The "good ending"...is this when you save or harvest the Little Sisters? Don't tell me what the ending is...I'm harvesting first, then saving, so I'm curious.

Spoiler:
Good ending is to save the Little Sisters...I think that you might be able to harvest one or two to still get the good ending though, but you are probably safer with saving them all

With all the water the "Electro" is a must but I've found Telekinesis to be the most useful in throwing anything that's not tied down including bodies. Don't underestimate "Enrage" as anytime two or more are in a room they have at it. It's great to get help with a Big Daddy to.

I need some help.

I finally hopped back in. I'm right before starting Prometheus and decided to back track to find anything I missed. Which is where the help comes in. I have to problems in Fort Folic.

1.) There is a stairwell covered by a metal grate with a sign above it saying "more items downstairs." How do I get down there?

2.) Also in Fort Frolic there is a tonic in a locked glass case. There were two glass cases, I retrieved the item out of the first early on. How do I get into this one?

3.) Upgrading weapons. I think I have 3 stations left to find(based on achievements). Are there 3 in Prometheus or did I miss them all?

Regarding the possible endings:
Spoiler:
according to the player's guide, you can't harvest even one Little Sister in order to get the "good" ending.

It is really frustrating..... I still love the game, but the QC is terrible. Someone test this software before it goes out.

Spoiler:
Did you kill Sander Cohen in Fort Frolic? If you did, then you won't be able to get in the glass case, and you also won't be able to get one of the weapon upgrades. There are two in Point Prometheus, so I'm assuming the third one is the one in Sander Cohen's secret room of his apartment (in Olympus Heights) which you can only access if you didn't kill him in Fort Frolic.

Thanks DRG. I don't recall about Cohen, I took a break from the game for a couple weeks. I guess he is alive, I was wandering around and he came on over the radio.

Did you get the good or bad ending? Im very happy I chose the "good" route --- probably because I have a 4 year old daughter and just couldn't see my character taking the Little Sisters out

The problem with these designers now having a voice in the media is that the designers now have a voice in the media.

Newsflash! Cliffy B likes Bioshock, everyone rush out and buy it!
