Just remember, it enhances the experience. It's like really being on Xbox Live!

In light of bringing this up, I shot Major Nelson a question about it. Maybe he'll address it this week.

Somehow I doubt it.

Agreed. I think it was also Cheapy talking about how if you buy one of the themes, and the ad covers half of the picture you just bought. There really is something backwards about paying for live w/ ads, and getting charged extra for things like gamerpics and themes which are covered up by the ads.

As with others, I'd like to be able to remove demos from my compare game list. I would also like better friend support, preferably a way to group friends. I've got some friends from here, some from work, and then some random guys that I only play certain games with, and it would be nice to be able to set them into groups.

Other than that, I'm pretty happy with the dashboard as it is. I'm always excited for new features, and they've addressed at least one thing I wanted with every update I've gotten so far.

I hope they offer group voice chat in the next dashboard update.

Also, is Streets of Rage 2 going to be a port of the Genesis version? Is that how Sonic and Golden Axe were?

I don't mind the ads when they are sponsoring content (Discovery Channel for instance sponsored some Gears maps). Otherwise it also pisses me off that it covers my purchased theme.

I want a larger friends list, a way to delete games, grouping friends. I would also dig a section in the marketplace that is called "free" and has all the free TV shows, gamerpics, etc. It is a pain hunting down some of the free stuff like the Austin Powers movie or two episodes of South Park.

Golden Axe I'm not sure of. It looked better than the Wii version which makes me think it was an arcade port but I can't be sure. The dawrf's axe in the Genesis game was never golden. In the 360, it is.

It's worth a purchase. I liked it more than the Wii version.

It is a pain to hunt down the free content. Perhaps there is a website that tracks it?

I'm looking forward to this as well. Also, Geon, Puzzle Fighter, and SPF2HDOMGWTFBBQ!

I like all these ideas but it's not to be....

The only thing this minor release will do is prepare your Xbox 360 for the wireless guitars that are being released in a few months. No new features beyond this wireless support are included in this update.

Yeah, I guess Guitar Hero 3 will be coming out before the big fall update, so they needed to release this mini-update in the meantime.

There's still a fall update on the way. This Guitar Hero update has nothing to do with it.

Oh yes, I forgot to mention that I'd like an option that shuts off auto-booting of games when the disc is inserted. Another minor annoyance, but I guess that's mostly what these dashboard updates consist of.. so that's one I'd like to see.

why would you:
Open the tray
retrieve game from collection
open game case
place game in tray
close the tray with disk in it

if you had no intention of playing said game?

Me 2. I love T2K, and SG is my #1 XBLA game. Hopefully it will be out soon.

Wasn't Streets of Rage 2 an original game for the Sega Genesis? If so, I'm not sure what else it would be a port/emulation of.

I know what I'm going to play so I pop in the disc before I sit down and get comfy, but I like to warm up with arcade games. I find the auto boot annoying as well. I'd love to see it go.

I'm amazed by how often I do this actually. How it usually works is this way:

I'm done playing a certain game and eject the disc.
While the disc tray is open, I figure I might as well put in the game that I will most likely play next.
But right now, I don't want to play that game, I want to do something with my media, or XBLA.

you can leave the disk sitting in an open tray and when you're ready, while you're sitting down, select 'close tray' from the menu.

really the only pet peeve would be leaving your tray open for a few minutes.

Agreed. But I wish they implemented it like it works (or worked, haven't done it for awhile) in windows, where if you hold down shift (maybe a trigger on the 360) while loading a disc it won't autostart.

But sometimes it could be hours or days until I want to play that game. It just makes sense to put in your next game while ejecting the last one, even if you know you're not going to play it for days.
