He's right. I've tried various methods (different drop boxes, different post offices, different times, etc), and it's all random. Sometimes you get it, sometimes you don't.

I have two post office around me and each of them is about a 3 minute drive. The one in the larger town generally means slower returns. The smaller post office in the very very small town has an early morning pickup I guess. If I drop a game in there it cuts the return time in half. Which is pretty amazing, and at the same time sad, since the GF shipping facility is less than an hour drive away.

Probably, but it usually takes a week and this time it took 2 days, that was nice. For a change, but I got screwed because I was banking on that week turnaround and didn't get the game I wanted.

Well this is interesting.

I had upgraded my account to 3 out at a time the other day so my wife could play a few games. I have Bioshock at home, The Sims 2: Pets shipped out two days ago and then yesterday.....two more game shipped out. I checked my account to see what was going on and the plan was on 3 so I'm not sure what is going on.....but I'm pretty happy with the mistake.

My latest game was cracked. The 360 won't even recognize it.

So I've gotten:
4 working games
1 lost
1 broken

All the games I've requested have come in so far, none lost or damaged, but the only problem I have is the shipping time. The last game I sent back (RE4 Wii) was on Saturday (I think, definitely before Monday), and I didn't receive Okami until yesterday. What sucks is that I only live a little more than an hour away from the LA shipping facility.

Alright, I joined up. One/time month for the first month via yourfree360, if I like it I'll bump it up to two/time and cycle them with these wait times. Either way, as long as I get the Oblivion GOTY discs, it's worth the first two months for the free DLC alone.

Anyone know how long it takes for a game to get shipped from when you first sign up though?

Are there any more free trials or something? I'm thinking of signing up so I can just rent Geometry Wars: Waves.. I really need to gauge if the racing game included as an Easter Egg is worth the full price.

If you signed up today, you should get a game shipped out sometime today.

I'm on the two out at a time plan, but somehow GF saw fit to send me three games. I'm not complaining, but I was curious if this ever happened for others?

Three out at a time, at the 2 out at a time price, would be sweet.

Also, I know there was some talk about the Fast Return stuff a few pages back. I guess I'm lucky as that is working for me. My post office is relatively new (built in the last 3 years) so maybe that has something to do with it? Whatever the reason, I'm not mad.

In a somewhat similar vein the "rapid return" (or whatever they call it) finally triggered on a couple of my games. It was for when they were shipping to me though so for awhile I had 4 out

I just checked and in addition to the one I have at home, and the one that was expected to be on the way, I currently have 3 MORE slated to be shipping today (so 5 games out total). Methinks there's something wrong w/ their distribution s/w.

Ah yes, looks like it shipped out today. I had just put Oblivion GOTY on my list yesterday, but added a bunch of games last night. My second choice shipped out today.

As far as these low availability games, does it get more likely you'll get the game as time goes on (as in the longer it's in your queue the more likey you are to get it) or is it just random?

I think it's just random... so whether or not you have a free slot when one of the copies of the games comes in. I don't know for sure but I'm pretty sure their availability is based mainly on the number of copies of a any particular game they have. For example I've seen things go from "available" to "low" as I assume a single copy was received and then shipped out (usually when I don't have a free slot ).

Ah, that is unfortunate.

I've been lucky lately. I got Lair from them on release day and I should have heavenly Sword by tomorrow, the day after its release.

That seems like a strange game to rent. Are you renting to see if you like it or do you plan to put some play time into it? I haven't played, but from everything I understand, you pretty much sign your life away to play it.

I own the original. I'm renting it to install the DLC for free.

Interesting to hear that it's a 2-disc game...curious to see how Gamefly would handle it.

According to the Gamefly site, it says something along the lines that they ship both discs but that it only counts as one game.

Nice...that's pretty awesome.

I wish Gamefly would upgrade the queue to hold more than 50 games.

The best thing i could think of would be to sign up a few days before the game would be released and only add that to your want list. Or if you have 2 out at a time add it and one other thing that is released.
