I saw someone with a gamer pic that looked like Jason from Friday the 13th ... he said it came from the OXM disc. Anyone know if that is the current issue?

I bought the 3 year extended when the warranty was at 1 year (and it's at 1 year now for everything except the red rings), so I am now covered for 3 years for the Red Rings under Microsoft's warranty, and 3 years for anything else that may go wrong with the $60ish extended warranty.
It was a lot more valuable before the increased warranty, IMO, and I'd think long and hard about buying it now, but it's just easier to keep it own now than cancel it and get it back (minus a 10% handling fee) after 3 months.

Although I doubt there's a point to this at all, I think it would be cool if there was an XBLA Xbox released... Built in HD, no disk drive: enough to play your XBLA titles but not real Xbox games. If such a thing existed at a good price (< $199) I would've gotten one for my family as a gift a long time ago.

FINALLY get to play all my games in 1080p, and i've been pretty ecstatic.
Gears of War looks absolutely brilliant on my 47" LCD. I'm thinking about getting the VGA cable even more now so i can upscale DVDs to 1080p

Basically, the television is currently scaling the DVDs itself from 480p -> 1080p. If the set's scaler is good (depends on brand, typically), then an external scaler (the 360's scaler) will have little to no effect.

i was initially either going to get a 42 sharp aquos, a 40 inch samsung, or a 42 inch LG.
after Circuit City wouldn't cut me any kind of deal, I went to best buy, who basically had the same TVs for the same price. after looking at some of the other possible choices, i saw a westinghouse that was clearanced and discontinued. I weighed the pros and cons of each of the sets I was looking to buy, it basically came out that I could get the westinghouse, with a 4 yr BB service plan, a brand new entertainment center, and a new DVD/CD rack for the same price as the Samsung/LG (and this is AFTER tax, not including the tax on one of those sharp/samsung/lg)
The black levels aren't as good as the Samsung/Sharp/LG, but the set was 1/3 of the price, while the quality was about 10-15% less, which didn't really make too much sense to me.
The westinghouse is pretty good for brighter games, like Forza. I had to mess with the settings for Gears a bit to get a really good, crisp picture.

o wow, kudos
my wife was making fun of me because I initially made the statement that i was going for nothing but "quality".
After spending about 2.5 hours at the various locations, it seems that sharp and sumsung seemed to have the best picture in-store, at least to us. what didn't make sense was paying an extra 133% for a smaller TV that only looked slightly better. If you consider what I upgraded from, it seemed almost like a no-brainer
now, you might question getting the last open box, but the 150 bucks for the 4 yr service plan seemed like a no-brainer as well.
basically, the absolute best scenario would be if I had a lightning strike that would fry my set in about 2+ years, which would require a full replacement, which means Id get an even better set for my money

Sweet. Wing Commander for me then. OXM gave it an 8.5 and sounds like it has a great 16 player multiplayer componant. The lobby is space, so you can hang out shooting until your game fills up. Sounds cool.
Finally broke down and bought Pac Man CE (after my wife asked to play it -- she never wants to play anything; she's never even tried my Guitar Hero II). It's a really good game, probably the best classic remake I've ever seen. While keeping the gameplay entirely intact, they've managed to make it fresh and exciting. I'm really impressed, even though I still think the game is over-priced.

Yep. I've probably put in 30 hours into Pac-Man: CE and I still think it was overpriced. It would be another matter if there was an untimed/unlimited mode like every Pac-Man game before it.
MS needs a middle of the road price($7.50) like Sony & Nintendo. $2.50 sounds petty, but there are quite a few other games I would snag if they were a tiny bit cheaper. I'm sure I'm not alone.

Next week, courtesy of Speedy, either BB or CC is having a Buy 2 [360]accessories $19.99+ and get $20 off. Therefore you can get two 1600 point cards for a cool $20.
Sorry I forgot the store, you'll have to do the legwork for that one.

Sure, if the requirements are:
- play Pac-Man: CE
