Re: "Ghostbusters"

So, is it worth the $40 net TRU wants? L&O's review seems to think so and I'll probably do it if I can stack the TRU deals.

Anyone try out the Wii version yet?

Re: "Ghostbusters"

Short is one thing, but to get 44/50 achievements so fast just seems like you rushed it. I bet a game like this lasts me 20 hours minimum.

Yes, I'd say worth $40.

Re: "Ghostbusters"

I didn't go to TRU, but I did print off the TRU ad and took it to Best Buy so I could just flat out get the game for $39.99 instead of having to worry about some gift card to use in the future on something else.

I was gonna pass for now at $59.99, even with a gift card from TRU, but getting it for $39.99 flat out made it totally worth it to me.

Re: "Ghostbusters"

Did it say "Data Corrupted....Repairing" when it was installing (PS3) on the initial bootup? Mine did.

Re: "Ghostbusters"

I got the 360 and Wii versions from TRU. The deals did stack and it looked like this:

360: $39.99 ($59.99 - $20 GC)
Wii: $15.99 (($39.99 - $20 GC) - 20%)
GCs: $40.00
------------
Tot: $95.98 + tax

I've already listed my Wii copy on Half.com to see if I can get a bite as I don't really want it.

I don't mind the gift cards since I'll be buying Overlord II next week anyway.

All you did was print out the TRU Ad and Best Buy gave it to you for $39.99?

Re: "Ghostbusters"

At 39.99 I'm tempted. Are the controls just like Resident Evil 5? I really hate those, but I might just have to sacrifice for GB.

Re: "Ghostbusters"

Welp I suckered out and ended up buying it. What can I say, Ghostbusters in any new form is hard to pass up to me.

Either way I'm playing on normal and I must suck because I keep getting wiped out by

Spoiler:
the damn candlesticks while looking for the fisherman. They just swarm the living hell out of me. Am I missing something or do I just need to slow down and keep trying

The controls on this are better. You just have to get used to the layout of the buttons and what each one does.

Yeah, just slow down and keep trying - if you run through you'll get swarmed (this goes for almost every level with those type of enemies, the swarmers that is) Make sure you scan them and all enemies to see their weakness.

My Best Buy adamantly refused. Jerks...then Toysrus was all sold out of the PS3 version. Oh well.

Re: "Ghostbusters"

I'll probably read the reviews when i get back in town tomorrow. I may or may not be on depending when I'll be in. So how goes it? I take you can jump to co-op right away without playing thru the storyline mode right?

Hey Ghostbusters....could you be troubled to let me know in some form when you're actually saving my game progress. KTHNX.

I was thinking the same thing. It gives you no indication on when it is saving nor does it give you an option to manually save. It sucks not knowing exactly when or where you'll start when you boot up.

Re: "Ghostbusters"

I'm frustrated as hell at this game. I should've played on easy. I keep dying and dying and my CPU friends aren't much better. I envy those who could get through a level in an hour.

I enjoy seeing "Reload Checkpoint" what a joke. There are no checkpoints.

Also, had an issue where I had $19,000 bought Slam Dunk Trapper and then died. My money is gone and no trapper. This game is awesome.

Re: "Ghostbusters"

Yup, I keep dying while trying to

Spoiler:
infiltrate the building in Times Square. The dang Mini stay puffs dog things keep swarming like CRAZY! They just end up taking down Akroyd and then I never have a chance to revive him, just too many.

Re: "Ghostbusters"

I played the game up until
Spoiler:
you see Stay Puft.

After that, I had to take a break. It's a bitch to get the ghosts into the trap. I got the 360 version after I saw what the PS3 version looks like online. Talk about night and day.

I like it so far, not one of those "Holy shit this is awesome" games like Fallout 3, but the nostalgic factor is there. I wish they let you play pool or the video games at the firehouse. Loving the achievements with the movie quotes.

Just because I am a big fan, I won't be getting rid of this no matter what.
