It's definitely not a GoW mod.

The possibilities with the Wiimote/nunchuck system would be awesome.

TripWire 01-16-07 01:31 PM

this is confirmed on aintitcool..

"We are very glad to see the overwhelming response to the Ghostbusters prototype movies.

What you've seen is indeed in-game footage of early prototypes on the Xbox 360, running on ZootFly's proprietary engine.

Due to licensing issues, further development of the Ghostbusters game hit a bump on the road, but everybody here at ZootFly is working actively on resolving the challenges with the owners of the Ghostbusters IP."

milo bloom 01-16-07 01:34 PM

This would actually push me towards picking up a 360.

Man this stuff gets around quick. I just got an email from a friend moments ago, I come here and there is already a thread.

Looks killer, but let's not forget this is still a licensed game and 99 times out of 100 they suck. Here's hoping this is the Riddick for the 360.

Ravenous 01-16-07 03:06 PM

This looks cool. Too bad its 360 only, Id be all over it otherwise.

When I read it on Joystiq, my first thought was Wii. I'd still be interested on the 360 myself, but would love to see Wii first and foremost.

Liked the video so much watched Ghostbusters today. What a great movie.

Ghostbusters isn't exactly a new license so I doubt the company is trying to rush out this game in order to capitalize on a new release. This seems like the company probably had the desire to make a ghost hunting game, and wanted the Ghostbusters license to have an outline pretty much set for them. Even if they don't get the license it sounds like we will be getting this game anyway.

Could you imagine the money the studio would make if they released another ghost busters movie. Couple that along with a game release and you hit the jackpot. I think the world could be ready for another one.

Giantrobo 01-17-07 10:44 AM

I'm one of the few who thought the Ghostbusters movies were kinda lame. I mean for me they're ok if nothing else is on but that's it. With that said, that demo or whatever it is looks good and although movie based games almost always suck ass I would probably get it.

Akroyd's been trying for the past 10 years to get a third greenlit. I believe they've had a completed script or two. Problem is Murray. No one wants to do it without him.

If this game gets through, I doubt it will have Murray's likeness.

Hah! That's funny. Murry was the most annoying part of the GB movies for me. I would prefer a 3rd without Murry. I like him more in recent more mature roles.

According to Dan Ackroyd, Columbia wouldn't give them the necessary budget to film a third movie because they don't see any profit in it, but they don't want to let another studio make it either in case there's a profit to be made.

Yeah I have read that Ramis and Aykroyd finished the script for Ghostbusters 3 a decade or so ago, but Murray doesn't want to be in it, so they never went ahead with it. More recent rumors have said that they have rewritten the script and want to have Ben Stiller replace Murray.

Supermallet 01-18-07 03:37 PM

Eek, Ben Stiller replacing Bill Murray? I don't know. Stiller's funny, but he's not on the level of Bill Murray.

Michael Ballack 01-18-07 05:29 PM

Ah, the good old Ghostbusters in hell script coming up again. I think it's never going to happen, but I was wrong about Indy 4 and Rocky Balboa.

Maybe they should get stallone or ford to play Venkman

I think it is a great premise from what I've read. If they won't commit to a movie, they could definitely use the script and talent for a top notch game. Not sure which route would be more of a risk though. Based on the buzz the game footage has gotten, sounds like the game route would be a good move.

As for Stiller, I can see them going with him if they go the movie route because he is way more bankable than any of the original 'busters. They would be certain to make their money back and then some and maybe reboot the franchise. He is no Murray, but I actually think he would fit right in.

Dragon Fly 01-18-07 07:42 PM

That looks cool but I wonder how "fresh" the game would be a few levels in. After watching the youtube video I was getting bored of seeing the same weapon being used over and over. I get that it's the main attraction probably but that'll get repetitive pretty quickly.....

Michael Corvin 01-18-07 09:13 PM

Luigi's Mansion was very entertaining. I didn't think that got old, in fact most, including me, thought it was too short.

I love Luigi's Mansion! As I stated on another thread a few moons ago, it is one of the few linear games that I started playing again after I completed it. To me, it is one of the few Ghostbuster-esque games done right.

As for the YouTube footage, it looks very promising. Physics and environment interaction kinda reminded me of HL2. I would definitely be interested in this game.

PopcornTreeCt 01-20-07 12:30 AM

Coolest game ever.
