Re: "Ghostbusters" game??? (or GoW mod?) [video]

Put in my Amazon pre-order. I love the movie so much and it looks like a fun game that I'm sure I'll get my money's worth.

Here is more info on the co-op mode

Though unfortunately not story mode, seems to be more than just a survival/horde mode. Co-op is pretty much all I really care about this game, hopefully we get some more coop reviews.

Please release a co-op demo!!!!

Any word on whether this will be a full game or just a mod for GOW? Or is this just vaporware?

That and I am sure IGN has a little more clout than ChristianGamers.com

I'm referring to neither of those as I don't write for either.

I check this forum often, but after reading a couple of the reviews here, I never went back. I'm not a fan of review panels that consist of open calls to whoever happens to be a forum member.

Re: "Ghostbusters"

I'm not a fan of the camera movement/control scheme. Games like this only feel right being played with a mouse which is why I could never get into Resistance etc.

Re: "Ghostbusters"

Well the no co-op thru storyline is a bit upsetting but I'll still get the game. I just hope between the so-called "Horde" and side missions the co-op play will be entertaining. At least four can play instead of just two. Besides, how games are out there where one has the chance of using a "Proton Pack" with three other friends...huh?

Re: "Ghostbusters"

Played it for a couple of hours yesterday, and while i can't say much of anything about it. I'm having fun. There are some frustrating things about it, lack of cover, lack of jump or climb, the timing of phrases... but it's Ghostbusters, and that part of it is a lot of fun.

Re: "Ghostbusters"

^^ Ok, so if it wasn't "Ghosbusters" and was "Ghost Hunt" with a group of wacky characters, would it be a must buy? Sounds like you're pretty lackluster on the game.

Unless it just get slammed, I'll get it in October at TRU's B2G1. Unless it drops < $40 before then.

If it wasn't "Ghostbusters" then I'd have to give it even more thought. Toasting the Stay Puft Man was pretty awesome. But yeah, it's definitely not a game like Uncharted is turning out to be (i just started it) nor is it something terrible like Lost: Via Domus. Early impressions are that it's a fun game with some issues, but the history and nostalgia really do add to this. As I unlock more weapons and stuff, I am sure things will change a little. I'm really only about 2 hours into it - and things are still being learned in the game...

And 8/10 is a pretty solid score like IGN gave - that leaves room for the little issues (I haven't read the review yet for obvious reasons), but also lets the game shine through. It's definitely not a bad game. But not a stellar game either. It's a good one.

According to this post at CAG, TRU will be giving away a $20 gift card with Ghostbusters next week. Not a bad deal.

If only the gift card would last until October. The one they give with Prototype this week actually expires on July 31st.

I will check the fine print on the ad, but I don't foresee anything I would use that on in the short term.

Re: "Ghostbusters"

Oh, they have a 20% off 2nd console game deal too. I wonder if you can stack that, buy PS3/360 Ghostbusters + Wii Ghostbusters for $60 + 0.8*$40 = $92 with $40 in gift cards?

I know we all want this game to be glorious, but seriously, hearing it described as "Good" is better than I think any of us should ever have expected from a licensed movie/tv game.

Re: "Ghostbusters"

Teamxbox has their offical review up now.....8.1

http://reviews.teamxbox.com/xbox-360...Video-Game/p1/

To break it down 'Pros & Cons".....

Pros....
Just downright fun
Voice and storyline of Ghostbusters dead on
Unique gameplay
Weapons are fun to play with
Visual experience

Cons....
Lack of Map function
Indicators and directional, lack of directing you to the next level
A.I controlled teamates help "sometimes' with direction
Bugs and framerate issues - very few but they found some.
Save points are to far apart. They mention they see this with allot of "shooters" though
