Re: "Ghostbusters"

more cons from my perspective:

*Voice work, while awesome has awkward gaps sometimes, making it seem artificial. Also, I've noticed overlapping phrases when they shouldn't be.
*Controls could use some remapping. I found it awkward to open the PKE and close it during hectic battles

Otherwise, they nailed both the good & bad almost perfectly. I stand by my previous statement of it being a good game, not a AAA title, but a good game that people should play.

Thanks for the input. I've looked at this from the start that (A) it's a "Movie Base Game" and we all know the past on these, (B) it's a old Movie at that, (C) a comical shooter; how's that going to pan out and (D) it'll be unique at that.

I'm still up for it but if the review went below say 7.5 then I'd worry. It'll be a break from the tradional sense of war like COD, GOW and such and it's strong suit may lay in some co-op play which I'm looking forward to.

Re: "Ghostbusters"

Apparently the Minimates that were slated to be included in the Amazon exclusive Wii version are no longer part of the package. If you know anything about Diamond Select Toys, this shouldn't come as a shocker as they delay and/or cancel products all the time. Sad.

For people living in Canada, The Real Canadian Superstore will be having the game for 49.99 (PS3 and 360 only) for next week only. Seems like a great deal since majority of retails will have for 59.99-69.99.

Re: "Ghostbusters"

I'm about 4 hours into the game, and as somebody who is a fan of Ghostbusters (but not a hardcore gamer) I'm enjoying it. The little references are neat, and the upgrades on weapons help with some of the issues I had early on with the game.

Re: "Ghostbusters"

I'm now heading to what I figure is the last level, should have time tomorrow to finish it off.

The boss fight in the
Spoiler:
castle
was pretty cool.

Still havent tried multiplayer yet, will do that once I finish off the main game. Sitting at about 420 gamer points on this so far too - with some designed to make you replay levels that I've missed due to not having the right equipment when i was in the level the first time. Lame.

Damn, you're already done with it? Going fast for the review or is it just short?

Re: "Ghostbusters"

it's about 7 levels long each clocking in at around an hour +/- 15 minutes. I'm not really busting ass through it either, as I have no assigned review for it - the beauties of freelance work.

Sounds like fun! Tuesday will be a busy day with this, the BD and the releases of LOST Seasons 1 and 2 on BD. At least I'm off for the summer!

Re: "Ghostbusters"

I've been playing it and so far its not that great. Catching the ghosts feels like actual work. Its just not that fun. Granted I'm not that deep into the game but I haven't had fun catching a single ghost yet. Its making me worried. Another weird thing is how the events in the game won't progress until you move your character to a certain area. It won't really tell you where you need to be, the whole game just kinda stops until you move your character over there then the action picks up again. It really gives the game an awkward pace. Seems like they tried to make the whole thing too cinematic but it ends up just making it less realistic.

I felt the same way, but as I went on you get the hang of it, I might also be imagining things, but teamwork is needed with certain ghosts as far as I can tell.

Re: "Ghostbusters"

Well in the early previews of the game it was mentioned that "teamwork" was important.

For me i'll have to wait till either late Wednesday or best bet Thursday to play. I've got to go out of town for work. Anyway Tuesday "Live" will be down

Re: "Ghostbusters"

hmm, catching ghosts was one of the fun things to me. You actually have to weaken them and fight them left and right to wrangle them into a trap. Much better than simply having them get auto-sucked into a trap.

Re: "Ghostbusters"

yeah, catching ghosts initially was a little tedious but as you unlock new upgrades and you get the hang of trapping them and slamming them it becomes a lot easier. The Slam Trap is a worth the early upgrade IMO.

Re: "Ghostbusters"

All of the recent talk has pretty much put this as a Gamefly rental for me. Everything I'm reading kind of has it at mediocre/good/alright which is a little to wishy-washy for my likes.

Re: "Ghostbusters"

Well my friends and I have been playing the multiplayer pretty much non-stop for the last 3 nights until 1-2am. It's actually really fun, and the single player is cool too, I just never get a chance to play it!

Keep in mind I HATE almost every game that comes out for one reason or another, so this game must actually be pretty good if I'm enjoying playing it. For example, GTA IV, Prototype, most Guitar Heroes, Resident Evil 5....all suck

Re: "Ghostbusters"

Just beat it and got 44/50 achievements! Gonna play it again on the hardest difficulty and have some online fun for a few more days, but overall it's a solid game. My only big complaint is that the story seems to "video game" and I expected much more from the actual writers of the films.

Dude, it hasn't even come out yet and you beat it already. I know you get it early, but jesus. How often do you play games

I clocked in at just over 7 hours on the single player campaign.

Re: "Ghostbusters"

meh, I was on casual so it was pretty easy. I did, however, find every hidden item and scan every ghost

I was SO close to my 2.5 million online earnings and xbox live went down...1 more match and I would have had it
