The Fountain Valley Fry's actually had a ton of CE's still the day after launch. I saw someone walk out with a shopping cart full.

Okay I just realized something today while in AB. I was getting owned harder than usual and my spells being resisted alot more often. Thought it was peculiar and didn't really pay attention to it til later in the game when I noticed we were up against lvl 64-66's.

Now I don't have the expansion yet. I'll be picking it up this week. But Blizz is pretty much penalizing the peeps who don't buy it by not separating the BG brackets for 60's and 61's+. Not cool.

It seems that pretty much unless you're a 9, 19, 29, etc., you're gonna get your butt kicked in a Battleground. I know they have to bracket them somehow, or there would never be enough people to fill a BG at any one time, but I somehow find it odd that you see 20s against 29s in BGs...

Does anyone know of any online talent calculators? I have searched Google and found a few, but I am at work and they are all blocked. Maybe there is one out there that I can get to.

Thanks!

Burning Crusade sells 2.4 million in 24 hours

Blizzard announces that the World of Warcraft add-on is the fastest-selling PC game ever in America and Europe.

By Emma Boyes, GameSpot UK
Posted Jan 23, 2007 9:04 am PT

Last week, thousands turned up to midnight launch events around the world to get their hands on The Burning Crusade, the highly anticipated expansion pack for World of Warcraft. At the Oxford Street HMV store in London, approximately 3,000 people, some in cosplay outfits, formed a massive queue around the block.

Of World of Warcraft's current 8 million worldwide subscribers, 2.4 million bought the expansion pack the first day it was available. According to Blizzard, that makes it the fast-selling PC title of all time in the UK and Europe. In a statement, Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime not-so-modestly commented that "The Burning Crusade has already exceeded even our most ambitious expectations."

In the US, 1.2 million of the 2 million WOW players snagged the Burning Crusade in the first 24 hours after it went on sale. In Europe, over 1.1 million copies were sold--meaning that 73 percent of the 1.5 million WOW players in the region now own the expansion. Blizzard said 1.7 million players had already logged into the Burning Crusade within 24 hours of its release, with one French gamer reportedly hitting the new level cap of 70 within 28 hours.

The Burning Crusade debuted at number one in the UK all-formats chart, although it narrowly missed becoming the fastest selling PC game title in the UK ever, according to Chart-Track. US PC sales numbers for the week won't be available until next week.

I don't play this game (too expensive, not enough time), but boy are you guys fanatics or what?

I was explaining this to my girlfriend the other day. Crazy when the top console game right now like Gears just now hits 3 million while WoW is already creeping up there.

It's actually NOT too expensive... once you get hooked on WoW, then there's no need to buy any other games, ever! All of a sudden, your total monthly gaming bill is $15! It's a bargain I tell you!

I tried numerous times to get hooked on WoW and never could see the appeal. Closest I ever got hooked on an MMORPG was CoH/CoV, spent countless hours on that game.

So, you're saying if I buy WoW and pay $15 a month for access, that I will actually save money?

Assuming, of course, that you don't buy any other games and that your normal month gaming expenditures are greater than $15.00.

It's cheap to try as well. There's a 10-day free trial, and if you like it enough you can buy the base game for $19.99, which includes an additional 30 days of play. Not a bad deal.

I was so reluctant to pay $15 a month. But my game purchases have gone WAY down since I started playing. It is saving me money, no question.

I just hit 57.5 today... i'll be able to join all the cool folks on the other side of the portal very very soon! I'm really excited, after 5 or 6 aborted attempts, this will be my first character to get to 60!

Backing up the "WoW decreases your gaming budget" bandwagon. I started in October 2005, and since then I think I've only bought 4 other games (all for my PS2) and 3 remain sealed on my shelf. The only one I've even bothered to open was We <3 Katamari.

Man, I'm an idiot. I haven't played my level 60 Shammy very much because of server queues, opting instead to level a new Draenei on a low-pop server. I've had fun with him in Outland, but he felt a bit "gimpy". So I took a look at his talent tree...NONE of his talent points had been spent. Turns out they did a Shammy talent refund sometime in the past while I was not playing the game.

I guess the whole "OMFG SHAMANS ARE OVERPOW3RED" bandwagon that was raging when I left is no more?

Warriors waffling over how druids are overpowered has really been confusing me lately. I guess the grass is greener on both sides...

So I'm in fry's (Manhattan beach) tonight and guess what I saw??? Probably 50-75 copies of these just sitting there. I was pretty pissed since I bought one for $100 off craigslist on launch day.

Plenty at Fry's here in Fountain Valley too. It sucks for people who paid a lot early, but makes me happy when i think of everyone that got screwed selling on EBay
