If I get get a Wii, I getting SMB for sure. It brings back good memories of when I got my Gamecube and that was the first title I played.

Great deal, but I can't seem to find it. Maybe they sold out.

The plug in to the Wiimote like the nunchuck does, which makes them wireless--other than being tethered to the Wiimote.

I dont wanna sound like a fool, but with the SD cards, so would it be a lot cheaper to just buy one that isn't Nintendo brand, cause I saw someone's link for one on Amazon for less than 30 bucks, which is a hell of a lot better than paying 60. Thanks for any help you can give.

Yes, don't by the nintendo ones.

There's a link above to a 1GB one that is $8.99 after rebate, but I think that deal is dead now.

Hence the wrist strap. I'm sure that Nintendo figured that out early on in development. They are covering their butts quite well.

Here's a 1GB SD card for $7.99 after $10 mail in rebate.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...C-Bensbargains

Tempted, but I'm still holding off for now as the budget is tight at the moment and the 512MB internal should keep me golden for a long time anyway sicne I don't plan on buying many (if any) N64 games.

Is the SD card limited to 1GB? Can you use 2GB SD cards?

Not sure, but I think any SD card will do, so 2GB should be fine.

The latest 1up podcast talks about their hand ons take of the wii. They said you are going to feel like an idiot playing and waving your arms around if you are playing by yourself and someone sees you doing it.

They also said that there are "easy" games to try and draw new people in. They said those were fun. I don't remember which game in particular they were talking about.

At any rate, I agree with Luke from 1up that it seems like nothing more than a gamecube peripheral.

I think I've talked myself out of getting one at launch. I'll wait for someone I know to get one and the game catalog to build up before I consider buying one again.

And as someone else noted in an earlier thread, I bet they have no problem strapping a dorky looking head set on and talking to other random gamer geeks while playing online by themselves.

Who cares as long as it is fun?

I understand what he is saying, because it all comes back to graphical limitations. If it were a peripheral only a handful of games would support it.(bongos, mic, etc) and it would die a slow painful death. This is designed for EVERY game which is different. It will take 6-12 mos. for developers to truly grasp the potential like the DS. The launch titles are valiant efforts it seems to me, but nothing 4 star yet.

=========
FWI, I noticed on CAG that starting today you can get an additional $20 when you trade in an old system. They don't give shit for systems, but with this it seems worth it to me. They offer $25 for a gamecube, so you would be getting $45 for it(add in another $8.50 if you preorder Gears, FF or Zelda). Potentially around $54 for a used system. I don't think you can get that much on ebay.

I think I'm going to hit them up later today.

Stupid question.
Is the Wii console trapezoidal in shape, or is it square/rectangular? All the pics I see make it look off-center; is that the perspective of the photo, or is it designed that way?

It's square/rectangular. It looks off in pics because the base has an angled indentation for the console.

Yeah. This game wasn't really even on my radar until I watched the videos over at IGN. I think I'm going to have to get it at launch now, or Christmas at the latest.

^ AFAIK.

I went in yesterday and they didn't have a clue about it. I think I read wrong though and it starts today. The 16th. I'm going to head up there or call after work and try again.
