Official Wii Thread Part 4.

We are almost at a month to launch. Hopefully the time will pass quickly. I can't wait until I can bring a Wii to the house.

I've asked for the 17th and 20th of November off. Gonna be a playing-Wii-selling-PS3 weekend for me - I can't wait!

I thought about that but November (and in particular that week) are so slow where I work that it'd be a waste of vacation time when I'll probably just be here enjoying web surfing or something. I do, however, have next Friday off as I'm taking a friend to the Fusion thing to get a chance to play Wii early.

Damn, Tales of the Abyss comes out this week. I'll probably have to hardcore that game (play a couple hours each night) if I want to beat it before the November rush pours in. Unless it turns out better than what I'm expecting it to be, I've got a lot of stuff coming that I'd probably put over it.

I'm taking the week after Thanksgiving off. Nice long vacation starting with Thanksgiving.

What sucks is that I have to work the Sunday night, so I'll only be able to play my Wii for most of the day. Ah well, I can't lose this job.

I think I'm just going to go to a few stores on launch day and see if I can pick one up. I'm not going to camp out and I don't want to pre-order in case I am part of a second or third shipment.

I was in Target tonight and they already had display cases up for the Wii and PS3. No kiosks of course, but still exciting every day we get closer.

According to my Nintendo rep, Wii demos should be in stores by the end of this month.

I noticed that at Target the other day myself. Pretty cool to see actual graphics and marketing materials for the systems.

Preorders should start soon at GS/EB. Friday is the current rumor going around the net.

FYE has been taking preorders for a while.

But yes, it should be pretty easy to find at or near launch with 4 million (and it sounds like probably more than that) in north american by x-mas.

Just got back from a Gamestop about 25 miles from where I live. All the stores in Louisville sold out at 10. This one had no one in line, I got the last one #8(core) at noon. Anyway, I thought the following was worth mentioning to the Wii crowd.

The phone was ringing off the hook. He took probably 3 calls while I was at the counter. Same question every time. "Any PS3 pre-orders left?" Told every one of them he was selling the last one as they were on the line.

What I found very interesting, was in all three calls he inquired about their interest in the Wii, not pushing a pre-order, but more of a "have you heard about the Wii" type thing. Hoping for a future sale, I assume. Two of their callers had no idea about the Wii and he directed them to Gamestop's Wii web page. Still unlikely they will settle for a Wii over PS3, but definitely very interesting.

I wish I could have gotten off work to go. There will be some nice profit made on PS3s this year.

They spent 12 million developing Red Steel so I hope they get it ready and its a solid launch title.

i've been on the edge... juggling around with the idea of getting a new console for a while now (havent since my PS2). And i gotta say, im completely sold on this system.

I will definitely be pre-ordering. WarioWare & Red Steel will probably be my first pick ups.

Should be a fun Thanksgiving.

WarioWare is delayed to early next year now, just incase you didn't know.
