Yep.
HD = Hi-Def
HDD = Hard Drive
So if it doesn't support HD, will those that play games in any other mode (stretched, zoomed, etc) will that affect the play control? If the sensors expect a pixel in a certain area and don't find it(because it is stretched to a different area of the screen, etc), will it throw it off?

I just dont see the Revolution supporting anything about 480p, if anything at all.

I wouldn't think any of that would affect the control since the sensor is a seperate unit that sits on or near the tv. It's not like a light gun that is kind of taking a picture of the screen or whatever.

gonintendo.com now has *rumored* first screenshots of a Revolution game. The photos look incredible and are from a Test Drive game that was taken from a Brazilian website. Nothing is official but if the photos are accurate then the Revolution may be comparable to the 360 (or the photos are for a 360 game).

According to the gonintendo forums, a Canadian survey asked if they thought the price tag of 189.99 dollars was reasonable enough for the system. If that comes true, then the system would be like $150 American.

From Nintendojo
Of course, that doesn't confirm it will work in an HD mode since they don't (currently) intended to support HD.
In addition in his interview, Iwata stated that he hopes the next generation console will sell more units than the Gamecube, that former Nintendo President Hiroshi Yamauchi was not involved with the creation of the Revolution controller, and that the controller can be used with any type of monitor, including digital projectors.

They can go their own route and do whatever they want, but something as simple as HD that the consumers demand shouldn't just be blown off. Especially if they intend to sell more units than the GCN did.

Gonintendo has posted an interview with Jim Merrick, Head of NOE's Marketing. Link
It sure sounds like HD is not being considered. Although I sure hope he is WAY overestimating on that price guess and if so, he may be wrong on the HD thing as well.

$484?
If their goal is to take first by getting new people into gaming, a $500 system is not the way to do it.
Can someone please explain how outputting video to 16x9 would significantly raise the cost of the system?

Ye-ouch. He HOPES that not having HD will help keep the price below $500? I was just starting to believe the $150-200 figures being tossed about. I'd definitely be in at launch for $150, but anything higher than that and it's going to have to wait a bit. $200 I'd still consider, but I prefer to spend most of my gaming budget on actual games. At $500 I'd have to choose between a new system or 16 games for my DS.

The system will not cost more then $300, Nintendo has said this many times over. I suspect a $250 price will be likely. Everyone wants the revolution to be more powerful, support HD, etc. while still costing half of the 360 cost. ($200) It doesn't work like that.

Then why do their spokespeople keep saying such crazy things? They're scaring me. Those people need a script. (Or I just need to stop reading about the Revolution until all decisions have been made and the specs are finalized.)
My preference is for them to make two version of the system, both able to play the same games - one lower cost system and one HD system (or accomplish the same thing with an add-on), but I realize that's extremely unrealistic.

I'd love to see Nintendo deviate from course a bit and launch at $250 - with a pair of controllers and Mario Revolution packed in. Maybe a free classic download, too.

I would love to see them go back to a Mario pack-in and two controllers. That would rock. The good 'ol days. Use it to sell the system and they could have the sequel on deck to make all the dough.
