Someome posted in another forum that one customer service rep told him to ignore the backordered/instock status of the individual items because GameStop.com was receiving the complete bundles (and not assembling the bundles directly themselves).

Anyone see this? If this is true my local BB will only be getting 26 each for the relaunch.

Fair enough, my apologies. I realize that you are only trying to relay what you've heard.

So we aren't naive or anti MS. We actually go to the stores and talk to the employees. Firsthand experience trumps a random stranger on the net any day of the week. So does that make you naive for believing everything you read on the net? Or pro-microsoft? So you can dispense with the broad generalizations.
I only think it's naive to actually believe what some random Best Buy employee or EBGames manager is telling you, when it is obvious they have no idea how their own (or MS's) procurement process works. To believe that MS (or BB, or any retailer) is going to hoard product for a March "relaunch", or there is an artificial shortage, or some other conspiracy theory is naive. MS has the hottest Christmas product this year and I'm sure is doing everything possible to get the product on the shelves now and not later. It would be the equivalent of Apple holding back iPods, it just makes no sense.

Regardless back to the subject, I'm looking forward to picking one up at Best Buy on the 18th!

Forgive me for not reading all 49 pages before this, but the 18th is a Sunday. They're going to restock on a Sunday? Or do you mean 18th of January?

Your local newspapers will contain an ad soon from Best Buy that they'll be selling 360's on Dec. 18th.

Unfortunately, the early numbers being reported are lower than launch.

So yesterday I was getting my new tires installed and there is a ciruit city next door. so I meanedered over there and didn't find any 360s or the Hard Drive. I looked around a bit and then started walking back to the tire store. As I'm leaving I see a DHL truck pull up, but the guy started backing into a space and then just went into the store without getting any boxes out of the truck. Anyhow about a half hour later and I'm sitting in the tire store and I see a Fed Ex ground truck turning into the Circuit City lot. I was about this close to walking back over but the sun had gone down and it was cold and icy so I said screw it.
I probably wouldn't buy one right now if I did find one due to cash constraints and my brother having one (and there not being many games I want) but I would like to try and find the Hard Drive for him as a Christmas gift.

Wow nice 96, that's more than all of the Best Buys for the 18th. Wonder if they will start to trickle into other CostCo's (I called around Minneapolis and none had them in).

I don't think there's a single Costco in Ohio.

Distance 30 miles from where? Well there's not one within 50 miles of Columbus, the only city that counts! Okay, maybe Columbus isn't that great, but still...

Saw on Xbox site from someone at Circuit City corporate that stated all shipments to CC went to the DCs and they would be hitting the stores anyday depending on the stores regular DC shipment days, usually 2 a week and may be any day of the week. He said they arrive during the day around noon, unpacked upon arrival and that the 360s would not be put on the floor that you would have to ask for them. He said that each store was getting less than 10 each in this shipment (sucks I think I am suppose to be #8 or 9 on the list). I will see when my store gets their truck.
