Yeah, hang in there, Leech. Because of the cost, the Gamestop bundles are not exactly super-hot sellers, like Circuit City, where everything was gone in 2 minutes. This last bundle was up for almost 20 hours.

I had it in my cart at noon. I knew I should have went for it then. The page is still up and the "add to cart" button is there. You just cant click it. I am trying to find the item number and see if I can add it that way.

They should have forgot about launching world wide and focused on the US if they had this shortage.

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer (pictured) said, "In these new consumer electronics devices based on new chips, there's always the question of what yield will you get out of the manufacturing process of the new chip. We're getting a little less, but not much less than the yields we expected, and we know that the yields we expected will probably outrun supply."
oops...

I was going to ebay it, but once I played it, I decided to keep it.

The EB near my office had a used one in yesterday.

Point being, check your pawn shop type places, rent is due this week. Also check the EB's and Gamestops, anywhere that takes in used stuff.

You ain't kidding about being lucky. I hit the button as soon as the time switched to 12PM and It came back that I missed it. Not a second later excacly when the time said 12PM. Anyone get lucky with this one?

It got posted on FatWallet....(it being the AMEX deal). No one will get it...it's dead. Also, seems like some CostCo stores are starting to get some stock in....we'll see. I'm still tempted to get a second one if it's readily available.

I tried the AMEX thing at 12, and after the server contacted (after about 30 seconds), it said that the server was at max capacity, and I could try again.. I clicked for a while, getting the same message. So then I opened up another window and tried with that to see if I got the same message, and I got one that said "Sorry you missed it. All items are in Cardholders shopping carts".. So I thought maybe it was in my cart in the other window and I just couldn't get to the checkout screen yet, so I just kept clicking the "Try Again" box over and over.

I gave up a couple minutes ago. I don't know if I had one and gave it up, or what, but it wasn't worth it to just keep sitting there and clicking for who knows how long. If the message hadn't been so vague, I probably would've kept clicking, but being uncertain, it seemed like a waste of time. Also, if the FatWallet crew is in on this, then I probably won't even waste my time with the 3PM drawing.

That's the point, it's hard to get. Like winning a contest or something.

Yep. And about 70 people got their Xbox360s paid for in that time.

I work for Fred Meyer (a NW-based 'big box' store of the Wal-Mart and Target variety), and one of the buyers (whose job is to get all the products they can into the stores) commented that Microsoft is planning a US-only re-launch in March '06.

Considering that alot of DVDTalkers have heard 'March' from retailers, there might be some legs to this rumor.

When a company needs to make a second launch for their product, you know they weren't ready. Wow.
