My pre-order at Gamestop shipped. Of course, I had to find out on my website account since they didn't e-mail me notice. Then again, they never contacted me about switching out two of the game titles for two launch date titles (one being the terrible Gun).

When is this so-called "Second Shipment" coming in? I've read that they planned on doing weekly shipments but who knows if that'll happen. I'd like to know tomorrow who was able to easily get a unit.

Well, count me in for the second shipment. I was told by GR tonite that I was number 9 in the pre-order line. They only received 7 premiums units. It kinda sucks, but I won't lose any sleep over it and I'm not going out to stand in line. I also believe some of the employees that ordered their system will get their tonite.
Anyone know when the second shipment will arrive?

A friend that was going to go with me is now at BB in line because of it. Talking to different people none of them know what is going on. One says they aren't selling them until the day after Thanksgiving, another says tomorrow, another Wednesday. He said he saw the same thing online so he decided to check ours, and apparently they have no fuckin clue.I am not standing out in the cold tonight though, not worth it IMO. I will head out in the morning to Sams and take my chances then. If it is a no go there, I will hit Target.
Back to BB. People began lining up early today and they had cops run everyone off. They wouldn't let anyone line up until after they close. "a fire hazard" thing. Bullshit, everyone else, everywhere else is doing it. Anyway, my buddy just made it there and now it seems they are about to have a riot on their hands since there are about 100 people there BLOCKED OFF from getting in line. They are all ready to make a mad dash for the door. That can't turn out well. According to the leaked numbers, that store is only getting 30 premiums. Should be interesting to see what happens.
*edit - They are doing a raffle to stand in line.
They won't give out tickets so you can come back in the morning, they are drawing numbers to see who gets to camp out all night. If you last through the night you get one. What a joke. One of my two friends that went is 2nd in line. I'll take my nice warm bed, thank you.

Wow. Just got a live report from Hurst and North Richland Hills Texas Super Target stores. One store has 20 units and 13 people in line as of 10:00pm. The other Super Target has 13 units and more than 13 people in line currently.

Just saw on the news outside of a Best Buy where they said "more than 50 people" were standing in line outside. The funny (or not so funny) thing is that store is only getting like 40 premiums and 10 or so cores.
I am about to head out to Gamerush to pick up my unit. Can't wait. I can't decide on whether to play Condemned or Geometry Wars first (and no I am not kidding).

They keep coming, the drum noises are growing louder and closer, there are 30 Xboxes at this location and 300 people and more coming every minute... The drum noises grow louder... I fear we shall all perish soon... We cannot stop them...

Well, I just got back from Gamerush with my Xbox360! Woohoo.
Surprisingly enough, there were 4 out of the 6 people who preordered there to pick up their systems. The first guy through, his credit card got declined, doh!
The bad news is they still haven't gotten in Kameo or Perfect Dark! I am probably just going to head over to Best Buy tomorrow morning, to buy them, and return my Gamerush copies to BB whenever they get them in.
Time to play Condemned!

This whole thing is crazy. My local Wal-Mart got 48 systems. I got there around 2:00 pm and there were already 8 people in line. They weren't telling anyone how many systems they had though, so I had to get in line. 10 hours later and I have my X-Box 360 (and I told myself I wasn't going to wait more than 3 hours for this thing). While we were waiting, people were calling friends and were finding out that lot's of people were already camped out at Best Buy, Circuit City, and Target for the following morning. It's cold here and raining. I'm so glad I decided to go to Wal-Mart because I wasn't going to wait overnight in the rain.

Here's a rough draft of a message I just sent to Kmart :
-------------------------------------------------------
I have just returned from store #4986 on 3901 Holland Road in Virginia Beach Virginia. I was there to purchase an XBox 360. I must say that this was the single worst experience I have ever had in Kmart. I understand that quantities were limited and was prepared to wait, my complaint isn't about the wait, its about the way the entire event was handled by the management.
According to the manager(who didn't give his name) the Kmart was allotted 17 XBox 360s. But he was only going to sell 3 of them at midnight and the rest at 8 am. After the people in line protested this, the number to be sold at midnight changed to 6. And after more protests, the number was raised again to 11. So even though there were many people in line waiting for hours, he decided to hold back 6 units until 8am. He tried to explain this by saying it was because if a mis printed advertisement. Before I visited this Kmart, I went to 2 others and Both were selling thier full allotment at 12am. None were holding back units for an 8am sale. The manager's excuse made no sense. If there were units to sell, and people waiting in line to buy them, why make them wait an extra 8 hours for no reason whatsoever?
When asked who made this descision, he said that his manager 'Joyce' had. And when asked to speak to her, he gave a fake contact phone number.
I'm not complaining because I didn't get an Xbox 360. I was one of the lucky few who did. Although when I left there were still angry people who were being forced to wait because of some arbitrary rule. I'm complaining because there is no reason that common sense should not have prevailed. The words 'That doesnt make any sense' were uttered repeatedly by everyone in line throughout the night. Walmart, Best Buy, Circuit City all handled the same situation in a much better way. There were other problems that night were the management failed miserable, but this was the biggest point. Unfortunately this experience has soured me to ever stepping inside of a Kmart again.

I'm amazed at how well my GameStop handled the launch. I expected the worst but they got their stuff together and pulled off a smooth launch. The only problem I encountered were the Rent-A-Cops mall security guys who acted all tough and gave us shit for no real reason.

I went to a Meijer that had a lottery at 12:01. There was easily 200 people there for 8 systems. The assbag manager drew one name at a time and waited for the people to fight their way to the front, etc, etc. It took forever. One teenager got drawn for a core system and told them he didn't want it. The next guy bought it and took it out to the parking lot where he sold it to someone for $1000 cash. I went to Gamestop just in time to get mine and my brothers. This is the craziest launch ever.

Well, I picked mine up last night at EB but I have not had a chance to play it yet. Got home at 12:30 and had to be up at 5:00. I figured if I took a peek at it it would turn into a 3 hour romp. So, here I sit at work waiting to play Kameo, Condemned, Madden, Call of Duty and PGR3. God this sucks!

Struck out at our local Target. They only got 10 systems and there were about 25 in line. Oh well, I only wasted an hour. Most had been there all night and didn't get one.
