MotoGP demo should be checked out, wasnt too impressed by it at first, took me a full race to get a decent grip on the controls. But i got 2nd place my first time online with it and the graphics are REALLY good. Its super fun online with 0 lag as well. Very impressed.

Moore: You don't like Gears? You don't think Gears is....?

GI: I think Gears looks great, but Gears is one game. One game doesn't get you to ten million units.
It also looks like there's more underhanded ridicule of Viva Piņata already from Moore in there, what a jackass.

I didn't read it that way. It seemed like he was telling people to stop underestimating that title.

Sure, but why does he put up the defensive every time the game is mentioned? It's lame, it's as if he's just nervous as hell talking about a game that isn't within their narrow car and gun shtick. When I read him saying "We've got Viva Piņata, which people will scoff at," instead of something like "We've got Viva Piņata, something we're trying to reach out to other audiences with," I get the feeling that they really don't want to break out of that narrow margin they've put themselves in and are almost embarrassed to have a title like that on their schedule.

I REALLY hope they don't let people play LIVE games and D/L crap at the same time. This would cause some major lag issues. Btu, for offline stuff...excellent.

I think it should depend on the game. I could easily download and play Uno or Spades and not have any problems and i have a crappy connection.

does this mean that the day after this update there will be a ton of posts saying "the update killed my 360. I have the blinking red lights of death!!!"?

Yeah, I've got a friend who bought a 360 a few months ago, and based on his achievements, he's only played Live Arcade games - no full-price games. So he spent $400 to play Feeding Frenzy and that billiards game. To each their own, but I like switching between the simpler arcade games and things like GRAW and Oblivion. Now, if only work wasn't so crazy, I might actually have some time to go on Live for some multiplayer. I've been AWOL for the last few weeks except for those few rounds of Uno earlier in the week.

I started playing Bankshot Billiards a lot more when COD2 and GTA:SA were giving me nausea everytime I played. I was thinking of selling this $400 box until Obilvion came out because I didn't pay that much money for nifty pool game.

The only problem with BB is that you can't really line up shots. There's nothing like being able to look from behind the ball to where you want it to go. The shot predictor lines just aren't enough.

Now that the tv season is almost over, I can buy Oblivion and spend countless hours playing it. I almost bought it for $38 at Frys a month or so ago, but I decided to wait. Hopefully there will be $40 sale soon.

Have you tried clicking the 'right' button on the d-pad? It puts you in a 3d mode where you can line up shots from behind the ball.

Xbox Dashboard Update Confirmed for End May
>> From xboxic.com:
We got confirmation from Boris Schneider-Johne (Senior Product Manager Xbox Platform and Accessories, Microsoft Germany) that a huge Dashboard Update will arrive at the end of May!

Features include background downloading and having multiple downloads at once.
The user marks a file to download and it will be put in an active queue downloadlist. There are 6 slots reserved in that queue. They will be downloaded sequentially not in parallel! If the Xbox360 sees there is bandwith available it will boost the download speed up. During online sessions the downloads will be paused to garantee no lags. It's also possible to turn off the console, after powering it back on the downloads will resume. When a download finishes the user will get a message that it has been downloaded.

He also mentions that there will be a lot more features in there but it will be a surprise and he won't talk about it!

Assassins: Creed PS3 Demo at E3 Running on Xbox 360 ?
>> We don't really have much to back up this story except that it was posted on IGN for a short amount of time:
Ubisoft Montreal revealed its next incredible project, Assassins: Creed, exclusively for PlayStation 3 at E3 this year, much to the delight of Sony console fans and to the dismay of Microsoft consoles fans. Ubisoft officially would not comment on a possible Xbox 360 version.

According to sources close to the company, however, there are potential plans for an Xbox 360 version at Assassins: Creed sometime in 2007. Additionally, Microsoft sources who asked not to be mentioned by name, claimed the demo, hidden behind closed doors at E3, was running on an Xbox 360 using a third-party USB PlayStation controller. The game system was hidden in a stand covered by a sheet. Again, Ubisoft officials would not comment.
Was the article removed because it was false or because IGN got a call from Sony or Ubisoft? Guess we'll never know. Still a funny story to start the weekend

to the update.

So Assassins Creed the big exclusive PS3 game that everyone is blown away by is actually running on a 360 not a PS3? Am I reading that right? Is this game at the Sony booth or the Ubisoft booth? If true that is TWO huge blows to Sony. One for showing their game on a rival console since their system isn't ready and two because it may not be exclusive. Just, wow.

Off topic here....does anyone else have a hard time remembering the new "Bumper" buttons on the controllers?

Translation: background downloading, and a few new themes and gamer pics.
I'd be genuinely surprised if there were any additional substantive features beyond background downloads. Come on Microsoft, we've already bought the console... no need to continue to over-hype stuff.... get out of Origami mode!

Well hopefully there will be a better way to sort marketplace content. Folder tabs at the top would be best ala messages/friends/recent players tabs. Seperate Demos & trailers and the like.
