How does it compare to Condemned? I always see the name tossed around when discussing that game.

Having played both, F.E.A.R. has a superior storyline including a better ending, much more intelligent A.I., and seems a bit scarier to play through. I loved Condemned, but F.E.A.R. is more of a complete game. It has a beefy multiplayer section as well.

^Yeah, it's pretty sweet on a PC, especially if you can pump up the graphics levels. It's definitely one of the most hardware taxing games out there though. I had to reduce a few settings to get it to run smoothly on my Nvidia 6800.

I was playing some Astropop when a popup came up and asked me to download a update for xbox-live. I did and didnt notice any difference, but im probably not familiar enough with it to notice any changes, if any, were made.
**Edit - LOL, well, i guess what it did was download an update for the billiards game when i opened it. I thought it was a xbox live upgrade! Silly me.
I feel like i need to post thoughts about the system from a AVID PS3 fans perspective. Xbox Live Arcade Wise, heres the jist of it. So far, i have to admit, i love Bejewelled 2 and Jewel Quest even tho they're very similar. Im trying to get into Geometry Wars, but im not into the firing with the other stick while moving with the other. All the other arcade games were downloaded and tried and i didnt like much else.
I also downloaded every single demo available (which btw fills up the drive to near 100%, looks like i joined in just in time to fill that sucker up to max, download speeds were ASTONISHINGLY fast), and i was surprised by a lot of games. GRAW blew me away graphically, its gorgeous. Battlefield 2 online demo is so freakin fun, i HATE FPS games, but this one was really easy to get into and a blast.
The outfit felt like a shoddy ps2 game, very disapointed with that one. Overall, im much more impressed with the 360 now that i have it hooked up to my calibrated plasma and have every demo installed and at my disposal to check out. Graphics wise anyway. Nothing really shot out at me as a must buy except perhaps battlefield 2, but not sure how into it i will be once i own it lol.
The lost planet trailer is just, simply put, mind blowing. Those in game shots are just freakin unreal, and i cant beleive im gonna get to play it may 9th. Im extremely excited about it!
So, basically, i got the 360 for 4 reasons.
#1 - Price was right. I'll divulge later how much it ended up costing me (once i sell the FN3 i got with it LOL), but you will be shocked at the deal i got.
#2 - VGA supported direct from MS, huge plus since my Plasma just has VGA in.
#3 - E3 content live while the show is going on. This is unbeleivably special IMO and i didnt want to not be a part of it. I went to the first 3 E3s in LA because it was a special thing for the first year, and this is no different. First time ever casual users are going to be allowed to get this type of treatment from the game company themselves.
#4 - SF2. I just want it here faster LOL.
So overall, super happy with the purchase. Everyone i show the system to is amazed, graphics wise, especially my brother who always talks crap about how games look like the same thing year after year. After i showed him GRAW, Lost Planet Trailor, FN3 and others, he wanted a system himself, and he hasnt owned a gaming system since SNES.

Oh, and the system has frozen on me twice so far. Once while trying the COD2 demo (i havent tried it again in fear of it happening again), and the other occured right after i finished a download and went to the next game to download its demo. It happened the first day i had it and hasnt happened since. The PS is 100% ventilated and the 360 itself is upright with the bottom side 100% ventilated and the top side 80% ventilated.
Both times, i just hit the power and it turned off, then i turned it back on without issue. I played FN3 for over an hour on XBL online and never had an issue, so its probably some weird occurance.

It sucks to find out this way... I guess I have OCD.. I have just solved COD2, GRAW, and PDZ all on their normal difficulty levels.. I'm now trying to beat GRAW and COD2 on the harder ones just for the gamer points! I really didn't care much for PDZ but I found myself playing PDZ on LIVE last night because I wanted to get some of the achievements.. Actually, I was going to put the game up for trade but something in my inner being was like "You must get the achievement points first"..Now that you've pointed out what I have.. I'm going to take the first step...
PDZ:CE For Trade
Man, even as I type this I keep thinking about the achievements I should try to get first.. I really do have problems..

I'm not saying Achievements are a bad thing. I mean they're doing precisely what the makers want you to do which is getting players to replay the games and get as much out of them as possible. That's cool when you think about it. But like I said for non-hardcore players like me they become crazy making goals.

Personally I think they could care less about how much you play them. They are just instilling that sliver of gameplay(points) that you hope to one day get to, to cut down on the used market.

I am worried about my 360. I was playing Oblivion and the drive got quiet, like I was about to get the dirty disc error, except the game kept working.
It went from the loud high speed sin to barely a whisper. I just don't recall this occuring during this game, I seem to recall the drive constantly whirring when ever I am playing.
Is this something to worry about?
