If the games are going to cost in the range of $35 - $40, I am in.
If the games are going to cost $50 brand new (similar to Gamecube, X-Box, and PS2); then I might hold out for more of a selection of games before I go into DS.

The price and backwards compatibility seem real nice but I think Ill wait until the offical Gameboy successor comes out or the sp version of the ds. The gameboy successor is going to be revealed at E3 in 05' right?
Also is Final Fantasy 3, 4 or 5 planning to be on the gba or ds or psp?

I'm on the fence still myself. I'm sure once I play Pac-Pix or the new Mr. Driller I won't be able to stop the money from escaping my wallet. (Mr. Driller was the reason I got a GBA back in the day, when I was still content with playing Dragon Warrior III on GBC until I died..)

Apparently all Nintendo has to do to make the DS a success is release a Pokemon title for it. They sold 1 million copies of the Fire and Red games in the first three weeks and those are simple remakes.
With the large amount of money GameRush gives for trade ins I'm probably getting the DS by trading in stuff, however I'm still not sold 100% on it. I'm hoping for more game announcements for the launch.
Will the Pokémon madness ever end? Nintendo certainly doesn't hope so. The company announced today that the latest entries in the series, Pokémon FireRed and Pokémon LeafGreen, have sold a combined 1 million units in the three weeks since their September 7 release. The two titles are top-to-bottom remakes of the original monster-trading adventures for the black-and-white Game Boy, which took the world by storm in the late '90s. Each is packed with the Game Boy Advance Wireless Adapter at a suggested retail price of $39.99--5 to 10 dollars higher than the average GBA title.
In today's release, Nintendo also reported that sales of the Game Boy Advance SP hardware are up 70 percent following its price drop to $79.99 on September 2. Industry followers believe that the price reduction from the system's previous price point of $99.99 was in part to differentiate the hardware from the upcoming $149.99 Nintendo DS system, which launches on November 21 of this year and will offer backward compatibility with GBA cartridges.

The headphone adapter was 5 dollars. Why in the WORLD would I need a remote control?
Or is this just because the PSP includes those items?

Click the link above for the interview...
DS Network & Warp Pipe Project
Since the dawn of this week, Chad Paulson and his Warp Pipe team, best known for their work tunneling GameCube games that feature LAN support, have been posting a deluge of cryptic images that hint at a big announcement to come in regards to a Nintendo DS project the team has been working on since early this year.
To get a better sense of what was going on, we conducted a brief interview with Chad this past Monday, though some other sites have since then done the same. Aside from the parties mentioned just below, we were, for a brief period, the only venue with any sort of timeline specifics. And though the cat may be ever so slightly “out of the bag”, we were able to supplement said “buzz” with a bit more than what we had on Monday. Moving right along...
In addition to the images, the Warp Pipe Team has recently shifted into an official office. Mr. Paulson had this to offer in that regard.
"We will be paid, but not by the end consumer. I appreciate your willingness to do so directly. If you wish to contribute, simply purchase games with your favorite green logo on the box"
While the statement lacks clarity, it seems to hint towards the fact that the group is now funded by an external source -- presumably Nintendo. That does, if rumors are to be believed, tie in to the information found further below. We pressed for further information.

If they can make Animal Crossing DS a true online gaming experience it will probably sell a ton of DS units. Animal Crossing has built a pretty loyal Game Cube audience and the ease of visiting other villages with a true online DS version could push a lot of people into buying it. They would have to limit your ability to destroy the towns when you visit, but I'm sure they will think of that.

Since I've actually run out of console games to preorder thanks to their ridiculously generous offers, I figured the DS would be my next target of acquisition.
After turning four Toys R US $5 Karnaaj Rallys (GBA) and two Circuit City $10 Unreal IIs (Xbox) into $132 in Blockbuster credit, it's nearly paid for just by these scam,... er, ... wise investments.

Nintendo DS wireless hub trick up its sleeve?

A recent flurry of rumors and pictures has handheld gamers going nuts with speculation over the thought that Nintendo still has a huge trump card up its sleeve. A batch of pictures featuring creepy marionettes with the words “Find(s)me” along with a shot of a lone boy in a forest using a DS as some sort of navigation device seem to point to the possibility of a massive DS wireless network that’s bigger and badder than we previously thought. The DS could act as both a wireless 802.11 device and as a repeater hub. In other words, you won’t need a wireless router nearby to get online with these things - you’ll just need someone close enough to connect to, and he’ll be able to connect you to someone just as close to him even if that person isn’t so near you, and so on. Potentially-huge networks of gamers could appear organically and play against one another regardless of pre-installed routers or proximity. While we worry a bit about the lone boy in the forest (should people know he’s out there alone, and should his DS be announcing as much? Go home, boy, go home!), the possibility of a spontaneous wireless gaming network of multiple hubs is straight up amazing. Or is it downright creepy?

If this educated speculation ends up being true it will be the biggest thing to happen to gaming in a decade. This is very, very encouraging, and I'm tentatively very proud of Nintendo.
I'm taking everything with a gargantuan grain of salt, however. It would not surprise me if Nintendo and/or Warp Pipe nixed the current rumor. Nor would it surprise me if Sony waited for the DS to come out and then announced the PSP would be $200.
One thing's for sure: This is a very exciting time for gaming. Moreover, for the first time, everyone's more focused on the future of handhelds than they are on home consoles, which is a significant shift in and of itself.
