Any other lefties try it out? Opinions?

It does. Decker was saying that felt pretty awkward, and based on my past experiences with using buttons as D-pad substitutes (for example, the SNES version of Smash TV), he's probably right.

Just played with the demo unit. If you're a lefty, the controls kinda suck. Use the stylus in your left hand and you can't reach the d-pad. You can use the four buttons instead, but at least to me in my brief play time it felt awkward to control that way.

I've had a chance now to play it with all the different play modes and that right thumb on the screen and fire with the triggers does work much better. I just wish they had the thumb stylus available to use with it. Sound and graphics are very nice, but I wish I could play more than the Metroid game in the demo.
I'm pretty sure I will never play the Metroid game itself, but Mario 64 is looking too good to believe. Between that and Final Fantasy 3 Nintendo has my money on November 21st.

Zoo Keepers are Headed to Nintendo DS
11/16/04
Ignition Entertainment announced today that it'll be bringing the puzzle game Zoo Keeper to Nintendo DS handheld systems everywhere in North America and Europe. The game is one of the first Japanese launch titles for Nintendo's new handheld system.
Using the Touch Screen, players will tap the Nintendo DS stylus to swap the positions of animals on the screen as they try to create lines of three or more of the same type (think Tetris). Lined-up animals are then "captured," allowing other animals to fall into their place.
Players will also be able to use the DS' wireless connectivity to play two-player games. So what's the neat part of all that? Those multiplayer games will only require one Zoo Keeper game card.
Zoo Keeper will be available in late December for $39.99.
Is this going to be the going price for DS games?

No. At least, I don't think so. I thought Nintendo had set a $29.99 price point for all DS software.

i think theyre trying to suck you in...the first batch of games are mostly $29.99, then some are $39.99...if you look at next year's releases, they're $49.99! i'm not paying $50 for a portable game.

Finally got to try the DS out today at Best Buy, and it was very cool. There was only one unit on display, so no chance for First Hunt multiplayer. It controlled better than I thought it would (after reading some of the posts in this thread), and the graphics were better than I thought they would be. I can't wait for Sunday.

Same thing for the DS. I will take care of mine, but I know there will be people that will scratch up their screens and ruin them in a few months.
BTW, picked up Mario DS yesterday. Just waiting for the DS now.

TV tuner add-on for the Nintendo DS coming

There been about a million different little add-ons for the Game Boy Advance (like the GBA Movie Player, the iCard, and a GPS attachment, so this shouldn’t come as any surprise, but Agatsuma Entertainment say that they’re coming out with TV tuner attachment for the new Nintendo DS (which is now just a couple of days away) that will pop into the Game Boy Advance catridge slot on the bottom of the console and run on its own set of batteries.
