I got my MP2: Echoes demo disc in yesterday. The demo is pretty short, but it gives you a good feel of how the 'light/dark' stuff is gonna work.

It seemed pretty fun, but kind of more of the same...not sure if I'll buy it right when it comes out or not.

I got a rather shocked reaction at Gamestop yesterday when I informed them I had no interest in Halo 2, Metroid Prime 2 or GTA San Andreas. I then put down my preorder for Donkey Konga and Paper Mario 2.

I believe she said "you are getting Donkey Konga instead of Prime 2" about 6 times while ringing it up.

Damn, aren't there enough people already getting Halo 2, Prime 2 and GTA? Do they really need me to order them too. Someones got to buy the damn bongo game.

Anyway the demo was decent and I was happy with a free disc from Nintendo, but I never finished the first Prime game so I see no reason to get this one either since its very similar. Give me 2D Metroid any day of the week, but I have no interest in Prime.

Finally saw the Prime bundle though and thats a nice looking package. Just wish Nintendo had done a special Metroid GameCube to go with it.

Yeah, just burned through the disc. Very cool. From the demo it seems to be a good mixture of old gameplay with new ideas.

I also liked the chronology and the concept art.

The playable aspect of the demo runs in progressive scan but the trailer/preview don't. I tried scanning EVERYTHING (I was unable to lock on to the Space Pirate's hover-thingie). Can't wait for the whole caboodle inc; space jump, multi-missile lock, morphball cannon and multi-player.

Forgot to drop my thoughts over the weekend..

They should've called this "Metroid Prime 2: Cock Tease"

Shortest demo ever.

The Metroid timeline was a bit weak, but the track they had playing over Prime 2's spot was VERY cool (as was the new title screen music, and the updated Space Pirates theme from the demo). I'm already ready to drop the money down for the soundtrack.

By the way, Nintendo has offically stated the November 15th release date.

That makes it.. 76 days away.

Probably a dumb question among video game geeks, but where did you get the statue? I likes.

The bright plastic one was bought at a toy store for $10. The metallic looking one (which is actually a bobble-head.. er, more like a bobble-torso) was given to me by a friend, I'm not sure of its origin.

Are you still interested in the Gamecube box? I picked up the bundle a few weeks ago and it looks like it belongs more with your stuff.

That would be really cool, I'd love that. Just shoot me an email and we'll work out the details.

Possibly two Metroid games in one week, again. All depends on the DS launching early. Thanksgiving is going to be much more enjoyable now. Sorry Halo 2.

Don't get me wrong, I will pick up Halo 2 but right now my priority is the DS and Echoes. Halo 2 will have to wait, till probably Feb. due to playing catch up. I skipped Mario Tennis and will have to wait for Baten Kaitos, Mario Party 6 and then RE 4. I could've bought an un-opened collectors edition for $40 from a dude at work who sold his Xbox after he pre-bought the game. I have no doubts Halo 2 will outsell Echoes but not the First Hunt DS demo and Echoes will be a better game.

The Gamespot review is up. They gave it a 9.1. Sounds good, maybe even great, but not enough to make anyone forget about Halo 2 or GTA : SA.

It's a lot of fun, I got a chance to play with it for a little while today (don't kill me please!) The controls are pretty much identical to the original. Graphics are beautiful, no surprise there. I could roll around in morph-ball mode for hours on end, just watching...spinny ball......

But anyway... if you liked the original, you'll love Echoes. 'Nuff said.
