Yay, got my demo disc on confirmed as well.
Even though it's not a big deal, I still like this thing that Nintendo's doing with registering games and getting free stuff. I was hoping The Legend of Zelda Collection wouldn't be the end of it and I'm glad to see it isn't.

I'm not complaining about the discs, but it would be nice to get all the Mario goodies and other stuff given away in Japan.

Damn! I need one more game to qualify
now I need to get Zelda 4 Swords at least its on sale right now
it is kind of weak that so few games can be registered.

I have 14 games registered through My Nintendo and 3 systems. All the Classic NES GBA games count and 2 are on sale this week at Best Buy for 16.99. Agreed, if Nintendo would give the American market a Club Nintendo I would be a much happier fanboy. This Metroid demo should be great though.

I'll have to pass on the disk. I only have 2 games on the list (Mario Kart: DD and Metroid Zero Mission, and there's only 1 more I want (Mario and Luigi). And I definitely don't want a subscription to NP.

Wow, has anyone been over to Cheap Ass Gamer? There are a lot of people begging for the pins in the Metroid Prime 2:Echoes Demo thread.
I imagine I shouldn't be shocked by this...but I am.
Maybe EB and Gamestop will be sellig this for about ten bucks when it comes out, the same as they did with the MGS2 demo a few years back. I realize that the Zelda disk is going for about forty but that has all those Zelda games on it.

A suggestion: go to EB and Gamestop and remove the codes from displays that the employees already didn't swipe. Apologies to the employees of said stores but spread the wealth.

Can we keep the begging out of this thread? I'd rather this be kept to actual discussion on the game or demo itself. Outlaw(?) started a thread specifically about the bonus disc, I think that'd be a better place to ask for codes if you need them.

EGM had a nice write up on Prime 2.

I just thought that I would pass on the info that IGN Insider has the E3 demo up for viewing:
http://cube.ign.com/articles/536/536675p1.html
I don't have access to Insider, and even if I did I really want this game to be a surprise when I first pop it in to my Gamecube. November can't come soon enough!
Edit: Gamespot has it for free.

IGN has a really good photo of the contents of the Metroid Gamecube bundle as well as a pic from the history of Metroid. Unfortunately, I seem to be unable to post a link here.

I was at EB earlier today and they had the Metroid Prime 2 demo in the system. I'd have to say I was impressed. Both Light and Dark beams are interesting and the Samus character model looks uber-detailed (can't wait to see in prog. scan). The scan visor was very forgiving-it let you scan things not weren't exactly lined up-kinda cool. I didn't do everything in the demo and I stopped before it ended so I could fully experience it at home.
On a sidenote, EB also plopped in a demo with a playable Paper Mario 2. Hammer bashing a sea of koopa skeletons was great.
And Toys R Us had a playable Donkey Konga set up. The drums felt high-quality and not what I expected. Only a couple of songs were listed but I hung my head in shame and played Blink 182's "All the Small Things". If I looked like an idiot I'm covered in full sleeve tattoos-oooh scary- and no one said anything. Good day to hit the stores.
