No. He mentioned it in a blink and you missed it scene this week. Because I was watching and got distracted for a second. I literally had to back it up to see how this happened. Kind of a lame storyline. All of a sudden that golden opportunity lands in his lap.

They’ve finally paired the two best characters on the show together - albeit in a weird circumstance of now owning a store.

I don't expect sitcoms to have amazing writing, but I really hate when the writing is lazy.
Darlene has some "very exciting ideas", and then states that after talking with some workers there are small things that would motivate them - like a gift card for coffee, break room pinball machine, and showing them that you care. This is what passes for exciting ideas? No-one's heard companies doing stuff like this for decades? These are things a grade school kid could come up with. Surprised the idea of having a suggestion box wasn't mentioned as well. The writers couldn't spend a couple minutes coming up with something a little more fresh and therefore more plausible?

With the ratings so low, and cast salaries so high, and being unowned....I don't know if this will get another season (or next might be the last).

I really enjoyed this week's episode. My favorite so far this season. Jackie wasn't as nutty (and if you didn't notice, her hair is brunette again). Harris was back to being semi-likable again. And I loved her scenes and chemistry with Becky. And even liked the scenes with Darlene and Mark. Other than Harris' revenge on her boyfriend, the entire episode felt really grounded and not over the top. And I laughed out loud in the very last scene with Jackie and the napkin.

I'm not sure I would trust the doctor diagnosis of Mark's anxiety-based stomach issues. I'd be more concerned but it was probably just a one off story point anyway.

Solid episode tonight. Kind of odd though that after months of these characters being very casual about COVID they have suddenly become more strict and paranoid. For example, Ben's mom coming to visit unmasked. Not exactly social distancing. Harris' boyfriend hanging out at the house with them (also unmasked). Ben allowing customers in his store to remove their masks to talk. I know, a stupid observation. Better late than never though that they are hitting this subject head on. And glad they devoted a whole episode to it. That said, they were a bit over the top and dramatic towards Darlene. Dan storming out of the room saying that if Louise got sick (or worse) he would never forgive her. This is his daughter. He's been dating Louise for a minute. Ben storming out too to do overnight inventory. Where was their concern about Darlene possibly having COVID? I'm still not buying the relationship between Louise's brother and Jackie. What exactly does he see in her? While I like that these characters are evolving, I think they're missing a great opportunity to dip into older characters and continue older storylines. What the hell happened to Crystal? Where is Nancy? And I think it's finally time to address Andy and possibly bringing Fred back into the fold. Even if only an episode or two.

The pandemic hasn't been kind to The Conners. The quality has taken a serious nosedive this season. It seems like Darlene and Becky working at the factory has taken over the show, and that's tedious as fuck.

^ Yes, Molly was a bit of a temptress, and had eyes for David. I don't remember if the family moved, or they just got written out of the show; they only appeared in a handful of early 90s episodes.
Unfortunately, someone ended up stalking Danielle Harris from her appearances on the show, she probably would be reluctant to reprise the character.
I just always think of her and Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead: "She's making us get up at the butt crack of dawn to tidy up the garage". I still use the phrase "butt crack of dawn" anytime I'm forced to wake up early.

ABC announced Tuesday that Danielle Harris will reprise her Season 5 Roseanne role as Molly Tilden, AKA Darlene’s high school rival for David’s affection, in the April 7 episode of The Conners. Although Darlene and Molly were enemies back in the day, they find themselves 30 years later having had similar lives and become close.

And when will The Conners pay Paff a million dollars tax free?
(I SWEAR I did not know Danielle Harris was returning)

And what happened to Emilio? Did he go back to Mexico? Last I remembered he was working at the diner, but I can't remember anything after that.

Dan's a dick.
Cool to see that he can't bully and intimidate Ben like he did David.
While Dan probably did deserve a raise and promotion, it would be nuts to hand your girlfriend's father a fourth of your family's company.
Though it's kind of questionable as to how much business Dan's contractor buddies would bring in. From what we've seen it looks like a little "neighborhood" hardware store, and not somewhere contractors would go to buy things like lumber and drywall sheets. You're pretty much tied to the big box stores like Lowes or Home Depot unless there's a privately-owned local place of a similar size; they do exist, but Ben's store looks like somewhere you might go to buy paint or nails.
