Agree. Fuck Ben
Loved tonight's show. And bonus that Bev finally returned. Estelle Parsons still has it at 93 years old. It's shocking how lucid she is. She's just like Norman Lear. Both look and act years younger than their actual age.

Agree to everything you said. Love Estelle! Just rewatched Bonnie & Clyde with my Dad and couldn't believe to see she was in that movie, I never recognized her before.
Cool to see they found a way to get her back onto the show at her age. I'm sure doing a minute of footage on a FaceTime call is easier on her. Hope she can stay on til the show ends. She's like Maggie Smith on Downtown Abbey!

Not a huge fan of Ben, but I agree with him over Darlene.
This is a family that can't get their shit together for decades and has squandered every chance they had to make their lives better. Sacrifice now to set your self up for the future - which is something Darlene/family never did.
Ben's right about seeing the bigger picture. Darlene's fun would only last a week and she's no further ahead. Her short-term thinking is what got her and the family in this mess to begin with.
Ben should drop her because she's just gonna drag him down. He'll go nowhere and will be wondering years later why he's still in the same situation.

So, do we have a Ross and Rachel thing going on with Ben and Darlene? This could get old fast. If it hasn’t already. Ben is too all over the map. Sure, Darlene has had her issues lately. But Ben has been pushing for her to sell those plane tickets so they can start their life. Which she did. And he pulls this? I would tell him to kick rocks. And head straight for Hawaii. Also, does Gina bug anyone else? She gets on my nerves. Why does she need to know everything that has gone on with that family while she was gone. Her interest was too over the top.

Hopefully after tonight, we'll see less and less of Ben on the show. Nothing but a selfish crybaby. Really glad about the Dan & Louise engagement. They are a perfect match for a couple.
I guess with Katey Sagal's show "Rebel" cancelling all of the sudden will give her more time on The Conners now!

But I can also see Ben's reasoning for turning down Darlene's proposal; he wants Darlene to make a real commitment life-wise, and she's taking a short cut thinking a ring will make everything better. Ben was doing this whole thing as a "test" and she failed. And when I say "test", I don't mean in the mind-game sense that a lot of people pull. He clearly laid out what he's been looking for, and that ring is no guarantee that she would make the changes he's outlined.

Yeah, they probably bought that house in the mid-1970s. Their mortgage payments would have been only a few hundred bucks a month -- they probably would have paid in the neighborhood of thirty thousand for it. Maybe as low as twenty.
Wouldn't surprise me if they ended up borrowing against the house, either to pay Roseanne's medical bills, float whatever business Dan was doing at the time, or anything else that required cash.
