Curiously she wasn't wearing that dress in the episode and her hair and makeup were different. Do you think that's why she looks different?

Bandi always looks her best on the show when dressed casually. When she tries to get dolled up, she falls short. Definitely a natural cutie.

Well, I wasn't sure how they'd do a show without Dan and Laura, but then they went and did it...with a new father/daughter auctioneer team.

Kind of weird seeing a woman auctioneer, though she's easy on the eyes.

Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion

I certainly don't mind the new cougar. Laura's "Whoooooo!! All right folks!" was tedious and annoying.

Barry really needs to get laid. And some day, he, Danny Coker and Jay Leno need to get together and compare car collections.

But wow, that scene of him at the pot farm...

Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion

Wow, the show feels like it's spiraling into randomness. One ep with Dan and Laura, then one without, one with Daryl and one without, etc. I don't know if it's design or chaos but it does make the show feel chaotic. And if Brandi's frustration was real, those two may be the next to quit because they have said in several interviews the show is screwing up the business.

Could anyone place the accent of this new Rene guy?

Really? If it wasn't for the show their stores wouldn't even have business.

All the people probably can't be at every auction. It sorta makes it more real for me.

Don't know what Brandi's bitchin about. Don't know anyone else who can sell autograghed Hot Wheels for $50 on eBay without the notoriety the show has brought.

Barry is the best thing about the show. Can't they just spin him off?

Barry's schtick seems old, odd even, this season. I think I'm liking Ivy and, to my surprise, Darrell more this season. They paint Darrell as the goofball, stupid one but he's been very interesting this year.

I think the show is a mixed blessing. Sure it's made them tons of money in the short term, but it's also labeled them a certain way. It's going to be difficult to walk away from the image they've cultivated on the show when it's over. I'm sure they get loads of traffic from fans of the show. This traffic may be driving away REAL customers who would happily spend hundreds of dollars.

It's difficult to feel sorry for them, but that doesn't mean that being on a reality show like this one doesn't cause problems.

Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion

Yeah Darryl is different. I think the combination of that big score and being rid of Hester is making life better. It's certainly better than that stupid "fued" he had with his son last season, which was totally disingenuous.

Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion

Wow, the two new episodes stunk tonight. Just bad TV.

Can they have Barry just be Barry? Again, he's paired up with somebody on both episodes and in one he does a stupid gag where he's in disguise and sneaking up on his own locker. Just not funny at all. This guy is so charismatic and funny on his own with out resorting to those tactics. I don't know who to blame. A&E or Barry. Oh, and why did he ruin the safe? Just call in a locksmith from the get go.

Those sweaty tank top brothers bring nothing to this show and they were on both episodes. To make matters worse, the cameraman insists on filming them with arms wide open (no disrespect to Creed). I can just smell the BO permeating from my flatscreen.

Maybe I just need a break from the show.

I think you're right and need a break from the show. The show is meant to be a cheese-fest.
I still find it amusing and for all the reasons you don't currently like about it. I thought Barry was being Barry. He's admittedly cheesy but I laugh at his silly antics. And Brandi's schtick is to bitch at Jarrod. I'm also enjoying the show more without Dave adding the extra drama.

Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion

Oh yeah. Completely agree. It's a cheese fest, scripted show and I know that, but the quality is way below prior seasons. I think every show this season Barry has had a partner and the two girls he had last week was just a repeat of a shtick he did a few years back. Whatever happened to the old horndog quipster with the awesome car collection?

Even my boy Ivey couldn't save this groan fest tonight.

This guy claims that Darrell has been chopped for budgetary reasons. I hope that's not true.

Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion

You guys were right. That whole episode sucked hard.

BTW, that safe cracker was the same guy Brandi and Jarrod used in S1 when they had a safe full of old currency. He was sweating heavily and very red faced. I thought he was gonna have a heart attack.

Saw the second episode. I don't know if Kenny did all of that business with the pralines on his own but he sure is doing a lot better from when he worked in the front office of a storage company.

Darrell has said (on Twitter) that it isn't true, and claims it is a "smear campaign" from Hester. Apparently, there were a few episodes that were shot without Darrell (similar to the way Dan and Laura have been skipped on a few eps), but that's about all we really know right now.

Yeah. That rumor hit the internet around May 1 or 2 and has since been debunked.

Definitely agree about just letting Barry be Barry. He's always done some crazy stunts, but we don't need them every single episode. It's like he is all the show has and they are just trying way too hard with him this season. They need to dial it way back.

I really didn't like these episodes. I don't miss Hester at all, but really just want the show to get back to basics.

They've done a bad job replacing Hester. The new people they are bringing in just aren't interesting.

U.S. Polo Association "Polo!? That's Polo"

"Plastic storage bins, count em 10 bins that's $50 in bins"

The new tank top twins overprice everything.

OOOOOh a Raiders watch. $20

No name shoes, $10 a pair!

Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion

Yeah, that "Polo" exchange had me crackin' up. Them two just need to go along with the two dimwits dressed in suits. I can take Ivey, Rene, and the new auctioneers but please A&E, get rid of those 4.

I'm wondering if A&E is ever gonna address the Balelo death. Did I miss the "In Memoriam"?
