Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion
They are having another marathon today and they are showing a bunch of very early episodes. They are so different in these episodes. No hamming for the camera, no histrionics, no snark. Just very serious and business. So damn different. I hate how the show was spoiled.

Seems that has happened to a few shows. The main point is what they are doing then it turns its focus on the people with fake drama and other things I personally do not care about. This show is about what they find, something like Pawn Stars is about what people bring in, a improvement show is about and once of the worst are talent competition that turned into judge shows, something I got tired of after seeing two seasons of such a program.

All I need is Brandi and her boobs and I'll watch till the end of time. Hester was a douche bag asshole I'm glad he's gone and lost his lawsuit.

Nothing particularly great this week until the end. That Super-8 film at the end was genius.
EDIT: Ok that bit with Barry using the old CRT as a stool/step ladder absolutely freaked me out. If his foot went through that glass it would have been BAD.

Every time he did one of his "I'm into all this stuff" I quickly went "No you were into meth."
A&E must hate the fact they've got all this airtime of him to burn.

That's what I kept expecting to happen. Was just going to break that old monitor especially when he turned it glass side up.

Sad part is until reminded here I forgot he had died. I recalled his arrest(s) but that was it.

Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion
I don't know if it was me looking at things differently because of his death but.......he really seemed out of it and very paranoid in the latest episode.

I was expecting this to be his final episode after the way he looked and acted but didn't see a "In Loving Memory..." at the end. He seemed pretty happy in the past few episodes but there was a noticeable change this week.

There's a fine line between being a jokester and being pervy and Barry pole vaulted over it tonight, especially with the Latina weathergal. That was bordering on a sexual harrassment accusation there.
On another note, interesting interview with Brandi:

But, I didn't think the weather girl actually knew what all that equipment actually was and was just reciting whatever they asked her to memorize.

Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion
The show is in self-destruct mode now. How the hell do you cut Dan and Laura?
http://radaronline.com/exclusives/20...rs-reality-tv/
Here’s one item certain cast members of the reality show Storage Wars won’t find in an auctioned locker: a contract to appear in all of the show’s episodes!
In the aftermath of Dave Hester filing a lawsuit against the A&E network and the production company, at least three familiar faces have now been cut back on the hit show, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.
We broke the story that Hester was frozen out by execs and then filed suit, complete with charges that the show is faked in many ways, including valuable items being “seeded” in bought lockers, to add drama.
Now Radar has learned that Darrell Sheets was frozen out of approximately six extra episodes of Storage Wars. And auctioneers Dan and Laura Dotson were also cut back in the season that just finished shooting.
“They lived up to Darrell’s contract, but then shot more episodes that weren’t covered by his contract and kept him out of those,” a source familiar with the situation told Radar. “He was not happy to say the least.”
Sheets, known as “The Gambler” on the show, is a popular character but the source explains the motive for cutting him back was money.
“It seems as if they are going after some of the higher paid cast members,” the source said. “And meanwhile they are expanding the franchise. “
The Dotsons are not happy about their reduced role either.
“They make good money and they need the money,” a source said. “Suddenly the show just told them, ‘We don’t need you for this episode.’ And then it happened again.
“So they’ve been battling to stay on the air, and they are worried about their futures. The show is a gold mine.”
Hester, who was a central character on the show, still has his lawsuit pending. He charges that execs paid some cast members to “rent” intriguing items and “seed” them in lockers. Other items were placed in lockers by production company members, to be discovered on camera.
And Hester says ALL cast members are aware of the show being faked and it was discussed openly before the show booted him.
Sheets has not directly addressed those allegations when questioned by Radar on Twitter in the past, and he desperately wants to stay on the show.
“The show has a few months before the deadline to offer contracts for its next season,” an insider told Radar. “Sheets and Dan and Laura don’t know what’s going to happen to them.
“They could be replaced with cheaper talent.”

That's bizarre. There has to be some shit going on behind the scenes we aren't aware of. Dan and Laura seem to be the people least likely cause a scene. Plus, when new faces start popping up instead of the regulars, people will start to tune out.

Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion
The only thing I could think of was that incident with Jeff Jarrod where both Dan and Laura ripped on him hard. I know Jeff isn't liked, but neither one of those two came off as particularly nice in that scene. It made Dan in particular look real nasty, even though he was right to call out Jeff.
But I can't see that as turning people off. It just left me with the impression that Dan's not to be trifled with.

They may just make more Texas/NY episodes as well.
